My 300 gal marineland DD Build

Yes there is loops that come with the fixtures for easy suspention, and it has quick releases so you can screw the top support to a cannopy or bracket system to suspend over a tank.
Dunno how good they will look hanging over the tank.
I wanted everything hidden, and had my stand and cannopy custom made because i didnt like the marinelands dims. Now i have a few extra inches on both stand and cannopy.

Alex I see goodies came in .. Very nice... I have never used VHO but have really good luck with T5 .. I currently run them on my 180 and cube.. The stand and canopy is just simple georgeous..

Happy holiday to you and your family

I am drooling man, can't wait to start on mine. Is the stand from Marineland also, or was it custom made?

Steve thank you!!
I will probably go with t5 and overdrive them on icecaps. You also have a Merry christmas!! Goodies have arrived and more to come after the holidays. :)

Vietcu, Its a custom stand and cannopy but looks very similar but to the marineland version but real wood, and has 3 extra inches on the stand (30 vs 27)and i believe mine has 4 extra inches height on the cannopy.

Well got the tank on the stand today, did some pre plumbing and some minor stuff to the cannopy for lighting.
A big setback, With all the snow we had, and the record high temps today with the down pours of rain my storm drains and or sewer lines are backing up.
I am losing thousands of dollars in damages to walls, carpet, clothes in the cedar closet, my sons toys ect ect ect. :(
I talked to the insurance comany and i am not covered for floods. I didnt know i needed to have a special ryder for storm drains and sewer floods. I could see if i lived in a flood zone but i do not. This is a city water problem and i am having to pay for it. To top it off the insurance agent was like tough luck, and had a smug attitude.
This is probably going to shut the tank setup for quite awhile.
Most likely will dry out all the liverock i have sitting to be used, and get to work remodeling the basement. Luckaly i am a carpenter and can do it all myself.
I got all the water out (A few hundred gallons) And i can see it still coming in.

A little better note, It was storm backflow not sewage thank god.
Today is a brighter day. LOL I can get by with getting a new dehumidifier, and powerwashing the basement. Well lots of deep cleaning!! No probs at the moment and water is all gone.
Now to rent a huge carpet cleaner, and scrub everything down!!!
Not as bad as i initially thought. Monday will be adding flood insurance!!!

Well not too much but its a pita, Lost some exp stuff but what ya going to do?
It could have been worse!! Been cleaning all noght and today. Hopefully done tomorrow. :(
Tank looks good though, It looks big.

Bubbleking deluxe 250 internal. Its a great skimmer. I used to try out skimmers like shoes. This one stuck!

Ok a new page some new pics. Did some minor work on the plumbing, Have to make a filtersock holder tomorrow out of some acrylic. but the return and overflows are in and leak free.
Started with some lighting hooks for the eletes. They fit great so thats done. I have to do some minor things to the cannopy to keep it on the tank!! It slid off on me while i was fooling around with the tank. Almost fell on the ground. Theres no back stop for it to stop sliding forward. As tou can see i leveled it off with shims and started filling with RO/DI it sould be a few days to fill.
I test the tank for level every 6 inches to make sure it does not shift!!
Anywho heres some pics.

Tank return will be a laguna pond pump. 2905 gph and i'll have penductors on branched off the loc line. 4 penductors in all. That should slow the pump down a tad. ;)

The problem with the 2900 pump is when it's with the original volute the pump will be to noise & with the custom volute the pump will run quiet and balance flow . I realy want to know when you test it with the original volute how it's run and if the flow steady with the original volute .

I'll let ya know how it sounds when i fire it up.
I'll post a vid when all the equipment are going.

Well water is about 6 inches deep. Have to run out and get 3 boxes of salt in a bit. Maybe start a little aquascaping thurs.
Wife wants all the rock buckets out of the way and buckets of sand gone, So looks like i have to get that in the tank.
Plus my orange shoulder is miserable in the 45 gal. He is not going to know what to do in the new tank.

Ok water is filled, Sand and rock in, Just have to aquascape when the dust settles. I re used all my seachems greycoast that was in my 180. It was a mess but saved me 400 bones for other stuff.
The laguna pond pump is a beast!! Its quiet, and powerful!
I had to dial it down the flow was too strong for the overflows.
When the penductors get in that should help.
The marineland overflows are really pretty good, I didn't think they could handle that much, But they are doing good.
Added some biospira to help the cycle along and will dose some more and a carbon source to help speed it up.
Got a new fish today as well when i picked up some filtersocks.
A small regal angel. I was going to put zoa's in there but I'll keep my cube setup for the zoa's and lps since they are doing the best i have seen them do in a long time.
I'll take a pic when the dust settles, Off to get the lights up.
ca/rx will be here in a week or so. Hopefully soon. ;)

Also no leaks!! I was worried, I usually get leaks and they are not the easy ones. ;)
I used a ton of pvc glue though.

Did a little aquascaping, undecided if i am going to keep it the way it is. tried to fire up the BK skimmer, and its overflowing like mad. Have to wait another day or 2 to fire her back up.
Finished wiring the lights up and wil hand them in the cannopy today. The tunze 6201's are creating some good flow.
Sump and plumbing is working great, I was hoping there would be no gurgling and leaks. Looks like all that is good to go.
I will need to add a couple more bags of sand, But that will wait till spring when i can clean it outside.

Pics later tonight.

Thanks you!

Well i re arranged the rock again, I have a little more rock to add, But its behind all the structure and will not change the appearance of the rockwork.
Its still a little cloudy in the tank.
I am digging the eletes, They have a nice spread of light. The braces on the top of the tank do cast a shadow, For some reason the pic makes it look worse than it is, You barely notice it when you're looking at the tank. I am happy with the DE choice.
Now the waiting game. Cycle,cycle,cycle!
Fish only will go in next week one at a time.
