yes but if you lock them up and throw away the key then they can't go to work and bring home the bacon.

Crap. Your right!

I lost 5 cleaner shrimp when my tank did the melt-down, and I am wondering if something in the tank ate them or if they died from the dinos/water quality issue...

looking really good Steve! Its great to see fellow Canadian Reefers with nice big tanks, its coming on nicely. By the way GO LEAFS GO!

Not the leafs please!Well my fairy wrasse is dead he was hiding the last 2 days.I don't know why the fish died he was eating and everything but for some reason he went into hiding the last 2 days and now I found him dead.Strange my parameters are fine and all the other fish are good.

Now I don't know if you are joking or you are for real. You think the fish died from shock?I did notice now that the triggers are out the smaller fish are going to the top of the tank when feeding.I won't put the blue throat back its a shame cause I like him but I would rather not take a chance.

I thought you were joking. The weird thing the fish was fine and eating. The triggers didn't bother any fish.My niger killed a goby but I am not 100% that he killed my clown fish.By the way my other clown fish died also so now I have 2 clowns.Maybe the triggers were causing stress towards the other fish.My fire fish are fine and those fish are small. From now I want to keep passive fish.

The problem is rooting out the cause. Could be anything from stress of new arrivals, agression from the triggers, or even a crab you don't know you have.

No crabs most of my rock was dead.I don't know maybe the fish was stressed.Maybe I should put the fish in my sump first and then add them to my tank later.Have them rest alone first in the sump to calm down and add them to the tank later. Its strange.

I bought some more fish this is a spotted goby

Love those little blennies. Some tough to keep fish though with the firefish, butterfly, and spotted goby. In such a new system the gobie is going to have a problem getting food. I have a buddy that built a bottom mounted feeding tube so his gobies would get something to eat.

Very cool! You are much more daring than I am. I just can't think of adding new fish without quarantining everything... I would go nuts trying to get a fish out of my tank now that I epoxy'd all the stupid rocks together:lol:

I bought the fish trap I caught the triggers and the butterfly fish. The fish trap works but what I did was silicone a piece of acrylic onto it so the trap is at the top of the tank.I was feeding food into the trap and this way I didn't have to stick my hands in the tank. The fish started to go in the trap but theniger wouldn't go in till the second day he was hesitant but he went in once, I let it be not to rush then there were 3 fish in there I closed the glass that was it.I feed mysis, brine shrimp, dryed brine shrimp, flakes and pellets(both types),some of the pellets do fall to the bottom plus I see bugs on the glass so there is something for the fish to eat.On another note my Lemon peel died.I was upset for some reason the fish that die go into hiding and stop eating. The angel was hiding the last 2 days.I did see him come out once or twice but for some reason he stopped eating.I don't know why the fish do this. Its not like any other fish was bothering him.I also did add some selcon to the fish food.I did this twice a week.Maybe I won't try that again.I did see the spotted goby start to eat.I have another 2 types but good luck trying to find them.I did find some type of emerald crab in the tank last night but I didn't catch him.I saw him when the lights were off.I will try the crab trap I have to pick one up.He wasn't big probably smaller than a quarter but I don't want any problems.I have had emerald crabs before and they never killed anything.I will try to get the trap to make sure thats what type of crab he is.I installed my fish feeder to dispense pellets 4 times a day.I have read anthias like to eat several times a day.I do hope they will eat pellets.I put several types in the feeder.I will still try to feed frozen foods but I hope they eat the pellets.I don't want to lose another fish.I think I will stop buying for now.I go overboard when I go to a pet store.
