My 300 gallon thread

Nice additions! Can't believe I completely missed this thread!?!

If you don't mind me suggesting, I'd maybe go with less rock in the display. Maybe open up some sandy areas, too. You'll give your fish more swimming room in the water column, and allow more space for your corals to grow;)

Thanks guys. I was gonna put less rocks actually. Let me think about it because I might do that except for the sides near the over flow because of the brace on top I won't be able to reach the corals. I hope to get more colonies of stony corals next week or the week after.

I'll take a FTS later tonight. I'll try to take off some rocks but I doubt it because it's hard to do another aquascaping project but I'll try. I need a macro lense for my D80.I'm just use my 18-55 lense. That wAy I can put nice pics in the future. And also I need lots of practice and tips from you guys. Any suggestion and critisizm. Unarce You shlould post some pics before and after if you do aquascaping in your tank.

Here's another pix of the aquascaping.Any suggestions is welcome. Thanks.

In general nowadays, most try to avoid the 'fruitstand' look, which can be very difficult with narrow tanks.

You don't have to stick with the lb of live rock for every gallon of water. You can actually cut that in half. Use the largest pieces to make separate islands, creating channels in between. Then create natural leading lines with the smaller ones.

My tank's height is 30. YOu are right. I really feel that its there are too mcuh rocks. I might consider taking out a few rocks. If you look right close I created lots of cave for fish to hide and feel secure. Thanks bro.

Thanks jeff I think that frag I got from is going to grow like crazy. It's very healthy frag. It's tip opens pretty wide as if it's building new skeleton.

Unarce, I took your advice and I tore down my tank last night. I'll be finishing tonight. I really thought about it because its a big job but I guess its worth it. I'll be doing 2 islands like the tank of the month. I have a couple of big pieces. I took some down already and my fishes are loving it..
They were able to swim around the tank rather than just swim in the front.. oooooohhh my assitant will be mad at me I ment my wife.. It means Im gonna shampoo the carpet again...But I know its really worth. Thanks again..
