My 300 gallon turf scrubber system

Custom built by Inland Aquatics in Terre Haute Indiana. Made from acrylic and is skimmerless. All filtration done by a large "dump" style algae turf scrubber. Growing many sps and crocea clams with the bioload of many fish. I love this system. Nothing to add or mess with. I scrape the screen once a week and its good to go. I have had many systems in my 10 years with expensive bubble king, deltec and atb skimmers and I am much happier with the scrubber system. For those tired of maintenance and expensive skimmers you should try this!!!

Thank you! I will try and get some more pictures. I need a ladder the tank stands seven feet high.

Sure, the tank has a built in sump in the back. Water is skimmed off the surface and pumped onto the screen/ bucket. The bucket dumps about every 25 seconds. This gives that" chaotic " motion needed for sps. The scrubber is built into the top of the tank which gives it a nice appearance and easy access. For info give inland a call at 812-232-9000 and ask for Morgan, Ben or Eric. They have many designs that can fit any tank or sump.

Very interesting design.

I would really enjoy seeing a very detailed look at the design.

These are the unique things that drive me to push the boundaries of design.

Thanks for sharing.

The tank has been running for six months. I bought a full screen from Inland so I was ready for fish right away. I started with five large fish and it took about a month and a larger bioload to put the screen into full growth. The more I add the better it does. By the way no water changes in six months!!!!!!!!!

Also I feed 3 times a day for the Anthias and my coral growth is speeding up since I switched to 250 Radiums.Even with the bioload I have to feed heavily to keep up with the scrubber. Not a bad problem to have!

Wow, sounds too good to be true... no expensive skimmer, and no maintenance... as many details as possible along with the schematic would be appreciated!

Yes I know it sounds that way but inland aquatics has been doing this for 18 years. The entire facility is filtered with massive turf scrubbers. They have a website at www.inlandaquatics.com. It took me 8 years of research with them to convince me that turf scrubbers actually work.

This weekend I am going to stock more sps like acros since the ones I have are doing so well. I really cant explain the "why" this works so well. I do know that the use a certain type of turf algae that you need a seed screen to grow. Feel free to call Inland Aquatics to get details and schematics of this wonderful setup. They are very good at customer service and will answer any questions you have.
