My 33 Gallon Oceanic Cube Build (Image heavy)

Can you explain more about hiding the ugly large mag pump that runs the remora pro? i have the same skimmer and same tank but have not yet setup any of it. when i do, i'm going for as clean a look as possible so any advice or info helpful! thanks -
Matt

Thank you for the nice comments,

Ocean In A Box, I decided to remove the Remora Pro as it was just to big, it worked well, it's just that the mag pump was overwhelming for the tank in appearance. Swamped out the pro for teh regular with skimmer box to hide the MAxi pump. Looks 10x better to me. The black skimmer box blends in with the wall.

If you could go with a closed loop and sump/refugium for skimming, the tank would look very clean in comparison, however, my stand is not suited for anouther tank.

So far I'm happy with my setup, it's pretty clean with the new Remora and I am still loving the cube look.

Jwilliams10, I do not trust my temp gauges that much, but I would say she runs no higher than 78. If you can believe it, after taking out my Mag pump running the Remora pro, my temp lowered to much. The MH lights on the cube do not seem to affect the temp to much. It seems as if the dynamics of the open top cube surface area allows for heat to pass up easily. Anticipating the tempertaure beling lowered I had to adjust my Ebo Jager a few notches up to compensate for the heat loss from the Mag. The maxi pump must be 1/4 the heat output. I'm now on temperature watch. As a sign of health, my blue anthelia is looking bigger than ever, she has expanded her branches outward a great bit. The color of the blue anthelia has changes though, she's not blue anymore since I moved her from my nano to the cube. I would say, no worries if your running a 150w MH over a 33 cube with fans.

terryp01, my fish load is high. I inherited all these fish from a tank I bought that was over stocked. So far I have not lost a single fish from this original tank, despite two moves now (although I did lose a false percula from my nano during the move). They all get along. Keep in mind I have 50-60 lbs aged live rock, 50-60 lbs of live sand, refugium with more sand and chaeto, Ehiem running carbon, filter floss and pourus rock and my Remora regular. Ultimately, I would strongly suggest to just select 2 maybe three favorite fish and no more. A 30 gallon tank with 2 or 3 fish will keep water parameters easy to balance. I have seriously thought of posting in my local paper to get rid of all but 2 or 3 but to tell you the truth, after looking at these fish for a few days now in the cube, these particular fish are so active and in front of the tank, it's a really nice feel, I guess you just have to see it. The activity is amazing, none of the fish really hide, it's like a community park right in front of the display. I will try hard to keep them together. (Note: for those of you that have tanks where your fish hide all day, and wish they would diplay, you know the feeling when you see a tank where the fish are 100% active and in the front of the tank all day doing thier thing). Despite the MH and move (move creating chaos in the balance of the cycle) I have had no algae outbreaks at all, my glass is clean since the setup, I guess things are working out well so far.

Blue Anthelia in new tank(well it used to be blue)
