I have been a big fan of Tunze for many many years since the day i start the hobby. I finally get the opportunity to upgrade to larger tank and decided to go with acrylic and design my own external waveboxes.
The tank dimension is 96x48x24 with 1" acrylic all around peninsula style with 2 large external wavebox each box can handle 2 tunze wavebox pumps and external overflow in the middle between the waveboxes.
The tank was design and build in late 2007 but i didn't set it up till recently due to all the confusion with my move etc...
Finally, on April 1 we moved into our new home with a very nice and open garage so i decided to get the tank up and running.
As for flow:
I am using 4 tunze 6305 at 4 corner facing the opposite end. The way i set up the pumps to create a circular motion in the tank. I plan to add 2 more tunze 6305 for more flow in the future...
My return pump is the ATB 4200gph responsible to feed the Calcium reactor, Zeovit reactor, and the Deltec Eco cooler 4200/4.
Here is some picture of the tank and the wave motion .....
