My 480g upgrade with ext tunze wavebox and 6305's

I have been a big fan of Tunze for many many years since the day i start the hobby. I finally get the opportunity to upgrade to larger tank and decided to go with acrylic and design my own external waveboxes.

The tank dimension is 96x48x24 with 1" acrylic all around peninsula style with 2 large external wavebox each box can handle 2 tunze wavebox pumps and external overflow in the middle between the waveboxes.

The tank was design and build in late 2007 but i didn't set it up till recently due to all the confusion with my move etc...

Finally, on April 1 we moved into our new home with a very nice and open garage so i decided to get the tank up and running.

As for flow:

I am using 4 tunze 6305 at 4 corner facing the opposite end. The way i set up the pumps to create a circular motion in the tank. I plan to add 2 more tunze 6305 for more flow in the future...

My return pump is the ATB 4200gph responsible to feed the Calcium reactor, Zeovit reactor, and the Deltec Eco cooler 4200/4.

Here is some picture of the tank and the wave motion .....

The new stream has a very gentle flow with wide spread. My sand bed not even getting blow around...

I would like to say thank you to Roger for all the advice and pass on the knowledge.

Your light set up looks interesting, what is it?

I have 3 Sfiligoi Exaggerate pendant for the Metal Halide, 4 48" ATI power module 4 bulbs and 2 ATI power module 24" 4 bulbs. With all the tunze that i own, the rest of the equipment better look good to match. :D

Thank you Bob. Semper Fi

Roger, take me awhile to figure out that both of my pump are not at max power :D. Most of the pump that i got was on max power out of the box... This is the first time. Take me awhile to dial in my wavebox (this is the first time lol) till i found out the power wasn't on max. :D

Steve what kind of skimmer are you going to use?

It better start with a T and end with a E or your finished! :)

We have 1 in stock right now. They are available without too much lead time.

:D can you please check for me on my max credit limit :D. I think i am close to max out or may over the limit. What i really need at this point is the 7096. I wish to see the controller show up at my door someday without knowing about it :D

Steve, thank you for your service. I've got to hand it to you, you do things right! That is one beautiful setup. For a 96" tank, the 6305 is not too much flow? Can you turn it up full blast without problems? I have a 96x36x25 (360 gallon) and I'm trying to decide between the 6205 and the 6305. Thanks in advance.

LOS, the 6305 has plenty of flow but the flow spread very very wide throughout the tank. I actually run the 4 pumps at 100%

Thanks, Steve. If there is a colony, say, 12" in front of the 6305 and not directly in front of it, is that going to be a problem? How close can you have a colony directly in front of it?

I really appreciate your help.

You can have it 8" in front without any issue IMO... It is very soft flow..

Update:

Finally i get the light up and running after a bunch of modification of the MH socket.

Above picture was taking with just 2 MH running. No T-5...

I borrow the 7096 controller from my friend fish store and it is amazing. I have got to get myself one for sure. The tunze currently ran on Pulse mode rotate between 50%-100% with Storm mode 1hr/day....

Well I got a 9002 that you can use until you get the skimmers up and running. PS who made your stand. It was good to see you at the MAX show.
