My 500 + gallon system. Last 13 years to now. Build, Aquascaping & more. Lots of pics

Told you Scott. You need to do a (how-to) video. Get Jim to help. His new Tank Tech series.
Daniel. ;)

LOL.. There are more Tech Talk videos that have already been shot. Voiding warranties on Tunze's aren't of them though and I am sure Roger from Tunze USA would be greatfull that we don't take on that subject.

We already did the one on the scratch removal. There is another one that is being edited on calcium reactor setup using the Cole Parmer Masterflex feed pumps. Another one on DC pumps including the setup on the Red Dragon RD3 230's on my tank. I think that one is Tech Talk but that may have been slated as an LA Fish Guys one. There is also a Tech Talk that we shot on installing and setting up the Apex. That one was filmed at Jim's house using his tank as the reference. We have tentative plans doing a Tech Talk episode on step by step GFO regeneration. I assembled a custom reactor just for that process but the filming for that hasn't be scheduled.

LOL, I see now that it is PVC and not loc line.

Thanks for the info on the Tunze Mount... I did browse through your thread (it's so massive after all). but did not find the tunze part.

Cheers.

One is mounted via the same method to Lockline.

I figured I would post some growth shots of a couple corals. Those birds nests are growing ridiculously fast.

This picture was taken 3 weeks ago when I got it.

This was taken about 10 days ago and you can see that there are a bunch of new tips growing on the almost all the tips of it. It's also coloring up nicely.

This was taken today. I can see this coral becoming out of control in a real hurry at the rate it's growing.

Looking good Scott.

How's the iguana? :)

Thanks! We re-homed the iguana. After redoing the house, we decided to find him a new home. It was a sad day for me but his new owner spends much more time with him and I don't need to worry about him running all over the house and jacking up the new carpet.

I have across this picture of the tank taken 26 months ago.. I can't believe the coral growth. My hammers grown more than 10x the size that they were. The finger corals in the middle are literally growing out of the water and the rest of the corals seen in the picture have grown like crazy too.

Then:

Another comparison.

Thanks for the info about the narrow Madison float switches. It worked for me in my Skimz sm163. I drilled one of the lid holes with a 3/8" bit and I soldered a small gold plated plug from the hobby store to plug it up to the breakout box.

Pretty please:)

Pretty please:)

It's funny Scott- after coming back to the hobby about 18 months ago after a 20 year hiatus, I actually can make sense of your equipment list. It would have been pure gibberish to me 18 months ago. Lol

Tank is looking great
