hey guys i thought i'd start a tread showing my system,it's a 55g tank i bout used with a walmart clearanced black pouder stand and i started it last year with hardly anything in it and mistakes galore from the get go by not using sea salt mixture but rather salt indended for fresh water and having placed a random rock i found in my back yard lol luckly these mistakes didnt lead to too big of a deal,i added an aqua c remora skimmer from ebay, some rocks from aqautic critter, emerald bay and a guy from craigs list

not too long i bout the rock from aquatic critter i noticed lots of things 4 big claims,a baby urchin,2 worms,1 flat worm, one feather duster, some hairy white crab that is no longer there as well as what i thought was a weilk snail, another hermit crab too but something took him out his shell and ate him,as of right now unless you are a shrimp pellet or algae in my tank then you are safe lol

the urchin is now super hugh and is maybe 4 inches from tip to tip and my feather duster keeps growing its tube and is now like 3 times its size, length wise around that clam,i need to get more pics, these are old and my system is much more stable and theres little hair algae,no bouble, some green algae that im not sure what it is but my urchin loves it to death and if i didnt have it he might die lol and coraline up my but,i dont clean the back wall and i dont see the point of it,i clean the front and the right side because since moving furniture around thats all you see and my back wall is almost all covered in coraline

yea their rocks are nice, shout out the sean....thanks man for giving me cheato today for my fuge, its a big help to me being on a tight budget tight budget = not much of anything for my tank lol thanks again sean

just a comment on your aquascaping. unless you've updated it, it seems it's mostly just piled up.

something that works well that i've seen other people do also, is to get a rotary masonry bit (doesn't have to be an expensive one, you can get a cheap one from the tractor supply company), and drill you some 3/8 inch holes in the rock to use some plexi rods (bought from a hobby store) to make your rock have more vertical look to it. also give some room for hermits, snails, and fish to move between instead of only moving on the surface of the rock structure.

it also makes your rock go much further and making your tank look more attractive to the eye.

(this one looks AMAZING)

we've got some bridge type structure going on in our 75g tank (with 45lbs live rock), but we need more rock. we don't have enough that we're terribly worried about a turbo snail knocking anything over yet, but when we move we are going to redo our aquascaping and make things more permanent with the plexi rods and such.

yea my rocks changed a bit,ill update pics maybe tonight,my wifes got a good cam on her phone and yea my rocks not really done because i dont have what i want in here yet being that rocks cost so much but i agree those pics look piled up,ill update tonight and see if it looks a bit better lol
