My 65 Gallon Mixed Reef

^^^ LOL ^^^

I think Biggles must have crashed Bello's holiday. Either that or there's some sneaky Koalo-tage (like sabotage, but utilizing a koala as your henchman) going on while the tanks are left un-guarded. :lol2: :blown:

:strooper:

Biggles has sent Kevin to raid Bellos Acro stock.

You're definitely missing Biggles...bumping his thread to ask me that.

hahaha :) always thought my tank was a 60gal but doing some reading made me think it was more, so wanted to ask some one what the volume is. Thanks sahin  do you think I could keep a kole tang in this tank as a show piece fish?

Wrasses will definitely demolish the critter population. I have no pods in my display at all. :worried:

Here is list of other fishes which I think look good and or have nice personality:

1. Midas Blenny - Lovely personality, look great/kinda "snake" when swimming.

2. Zebra Dartfish - can be kept in groups.

3. Barnacle Blennies - funny little fish with lots of character. Can be kept in groups.

Thanks mate, i love fish with real character so i'm going to look for a Blenny after reading your post - i appreciate having made a few good friends on RC that i trust the advice of so i really do mean it when i say thanks Sahin :) I trust my little mate Bello not to steer me wrong too, i just don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth in relation to what he has in his tanks....

Hey biggles, I decided on a purple firefish for my third addition to the tank. He settled in very quick and is now in the middle of the tank looking beautiful.
There were some peach anthias, but decided id add them last so the more skittish fish can settle in first.
Next fish will be a gobie or blennie of some sort:)

Firefish are cool mate, i'd get one too but it'll jump out like a couple did years ago so i want to see pics when you get it settled in ok. Definitely get a blenny but make sure it aint better than whatever one i get or there'll be trouble.......

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks my friend :)

Here's a one week update of the rapid color change that's underway with the upside down frag from the LED sump i placed beside the same acro in the display with Radium lighting, doesn't take long for that bulb to work its magic ;)

Right, it's the weekend so i'm not color correcting atm simply because i can't be stuffed. Check out the right side where i stupidly mounted the echi too low. It's getting poor flow hidden away down there as well so i'm currently working up the courage to move it.

Because i mounted the stupid acro above it on top of the echi base (circled in yellow) and then shoved a frag on top of that acro base as well and the bloody echi is too fine to hold and lever off the rock without destroying it i think i'll cut it off as close to the base as possible. The plan is then to cut it in half and remount one bit close to where it was but pointing up a lot more. I want to frame the aculeus with blue echi so the acro circled in red is getting sump dumped and replaced with the other bit of echi.
I asked the fish for input on the idea, the yellow tang is still evaluating things, the banggai doesn't care and the clown has zero confidence in my ability to carry out the procedure without significant trauma to both the echi and myself.........

And he's back! Horay horay:) I'll try and post a pic of the fire soon as he is stunning! Been feeding mysis shrimp purly at the moment, to fatten him up and get some more colour into him and it is working already!. Under my marine blues he just glows electric purle. As for the blenny of course it has to be cooler then what ever you get.
I challenge you to the battle of the blennies, are you up for it? Coolest blenny wins:cool: hahahahah:)

Hey biggles only three posts till the thousand mark. I say you should post the 1000th post biggles:) you deserve it mate:beer:

Nice biggles buddy!
Glad i'm not the only one that considers moving corals as a huge task and a pita!:o
Hope everything goes smooth during the procedure!
That echi is a beauty!

Sounds like he's a pretty little guy, a pic will be great when you're happy that he's settled in.
As to our upcoming blenny battle and if i'm up for it....... let's just say that i'll buy two and super glue them together if that's what it takes to win.......

Time certainly flies, seems like only yesterday i started making all this stuff up about how i keep acros.........

Nice biggles buddy!

Hey Mike, thanks for the well wishes but everything did NOT go smoothly at all mate lol.

Now before i snipped the echi off i had a brainwave to trim down that stupid acro above the echi so i cut the upper branch off and that was when things went south..........

Notice the branch neatly cut off laying on the sand bed, oddly enough there's also a big piece of my fluoro green stag now on the sand as well........ $%#&@# !!!!!!!! That acro was so hard that when the cutters went snap my hand went sideways and smashed a branch off my stag. The tang knows when to hide in the corner - the language was bloody flying i can tell you.
Right about then mr know it all clown fish shows up with a very unimpressed look on his face - he copped a mouthful too. You can see the top of the pic where the green stag branch used to be attached lol.

At this point i made a coffee and pondered whether to go near the echi but after some thought i decided that lightning doesn't strike twice so let's cut the echi and move forward.

Note: As it turns out - acro lightning can and does strike twice in biggles reef..........

When i cut the echi it basically exploded at the cut and i branch became 4 bits. The 4th piece is out of view in the rocks being molested by Potatohead. The clown being present didn't help, the yellow tang had his nose to the overflow in fear and me....... i'm bloody traumatised that's how i am ! :sad2:

Hahaha biggles, this just another day in the fish tank office....I swear, I have something like 30 tiny frags of M. Setosa.....why? Because they're clumsy!!!...For the record, I'm exceedingly graceful :p

Colors look excellent!!! I love the green stag . The Echi is stunning as well, mine isn't so hot right now, hopefully soon :)

BTW, it seems that Kevin's making quite an impression on people. Heard he's going to Hollywood!!!
