My 65 Gallon Mixed Reef

Hara hara its starting:D. But make sure you give me some credit for the idea of a shallow reef:thumbsup:. I like the name mate. here's another suggestion. A Splash of Color - My SPS Look Down Reef. I'd personally click on that first as I think most people are fascinated by look down tanks and peninsulas are kinda common, just my 2c though. Anyway can't wait, this is going to be great:bounce1:

Haha lol, I wouldn't be surprised if there was lava flowing there mate. Can you see the center of the earth?

Thanks Mark, i've been neglecting yours and all my other good reef mates journals for ages and it's really rude of me tbh. I need to keep up with your reef journals just as much as running my own from now on. :)

The peninsula will be 66x32x20" and will be the main tank. The 3'x3'x14' tank will be a second addition sharing a new 5x2 sump and much lower stand with a suspended hood. I want it up asap after i transfer everything to the peninsula so i can put Sahin Reef in there and use it for rock and coral scaping work. Be much easier to mess around with stuff when i can stand over the tank. Once the peninsula is well under way i will concentrate on the shallow cube. That's the theory lol.
For me the only tanks that are peninsula tanks are those with no pumps on any wall except the one short back wall. Otherwise it's a normal tank turned sideways instead of against a wall. The biggest challenge in running a peninsula for me is water flow, that is what makes managing an SPS peninsula that's full of colorful SPS from one end to the other a whole new ball game and i already know it's going to drive me nuts :)
Hopefully i'll create something that isn't ever described as common Rory
