My 65 gallon reef tank

Well whatever you did, or are currently doing, it definitely is working! I think that's probably my favorite tank that I've seen around our area (though I am very fond of a mixed reef as opposed to all SPS).

Thanks! I really appreciate it!!

Nate were did you get that acrylic rod from? I used threaded Nylon rod but it wasn't as stiff as I wanted. I have a lot more rock work yet to do on my tank and could really use some of that acrylic rod. Thanks..

I got it from Binghamton Plate Glass...

Not sure how I missed this before but this 65g looks fantastic Nate! I love the mixed life and am very partial to gorgs, softies & LPS lately. An acro dominant tank definately becomes pretty demanding so going the mixed route seems to make things more easy going and enjoyable. Great job with it!

Things are going well. Everything is growing nicely I have just been really busy with work, school, and everything else I haven't had much time to get the camera out. I will try to get a few shots here soon and get them posted...

I'd love an update too Nate.

Are you still finding the demands of the system to be much less than that of your stony reef? With a new kid, 2 dogs, possible move to a new home, I'm having trouble keeping pace with my SPS tank.

I know initially you felt a ton of relief because this system is much less demanding and tempermental. Just wondering if you've had any issues, or if it's still easy street.

Thanks Kent!

Cully, the new system is much less work and less stress too! It has been three months since a water change and everything still looks great  Since the monetary value of the corals is lower I don't stress as much about parameters and other things. As long as everything looks good it is good. I have the system almost completely automated at this point after combining all of the equipment from all of my tanks so maintenance is minimal. It's funny too, I actually like the soft corals more now and I don't miss my SPS dominated tank at all. I enjoy my current tank as much or more than the old one...

Well I just cleaned the glass, something I haven't done in a few weeks. That's a start  Once the corals open back up I will try to get a photo...

Nice photo Vince! Thanks for taking that last night!! I will try to get a few more shots tonight with all of the lights on.

Nice picture Vince. I have a nice camera but have no idea how to get the nice shots.. :fun2:

What mode do you shoot them in? What are some of your settings? Do you use a Macro lens? I have a D40 and can't seem to get nothing close to your pics...
