MY 75 Gallon RR project and soon to be "former setup" DIAL UP BEWARE!

Merv,
After looking at this picture:
plumbing-bottom-5.jpg

It may be better to have the bubble box in the front left:

instead of the back left.

Your call. LMK

I'm gonna have a soft U bend in the return hose since it's pliable. I tested something similar in a friend's tank, less turbulence in the down pipe. Rear is fine :) I have plans for the front anyways :) :) :D

New tank arrived today!

New tank arrived today!

Same Truck-

Same weird truck driver- as usual, bad mouthing the fact I got "screwed over" for taking too long........ whatever. Have a good life.

Same GOOD FRIENDS to come and help me get this 220+ lbs tank over a flight of stairs.....

Tank was encased in a plywood Box marked with FRAGILE all over it. Tank was perfectly fine! ***ApPlAuSe***

THANKS to COLIN and FRANCIS who pulled Hernias with me today!!!

Worked on the hood last night finishing up on the Ventilation....

After cutting the holes with a dremel, I cleaned up the edges and then placed Felt pads for the corners to hopefully help with the damping. I don't want my hood to act like a guitar.... Vibrating fans will get amplified.... The wire ends were hard wired to a 2 amp 12 Volt AC/DC adapter. The fans are only 0.5amps each, so I could technically throw two more up.

I'll see how these two work for now since it will be an open back.

NOW THE WORK REALLY BEGINS!!!!!!!!!

Lookin hot!

I will have to kidnapp you to north jersey when I want to redo my hood one of these months! :)

Thanks Rich!!!

Thanks Rich!!!

Here it is resting in the stand! Awesome workmanship on this beautiful thing.... what more can one ask for?!?!?

The sump was not predrilled, as I was unsure on the pump location. It took less than a minute to drill the hole with a hole saw. Got it lined up perfectly!

plumb13.jpg

Pump prep- I used left over 2X3 to elevate the pump in case of an in-tank flood. Don't wanna get the pump wet!

pump3.jpg

Pump dampers.... to hopefully prevent pump noise. I used rubber plugs, drilled in the middle for the screw to go through. and then I placed a grommet and then washer, so there is no metal-to-metal or metal-to-wood contact.

Pump installed

materials list for the plugs, washers, screws, grommets- under $4.... the cheapest hardware store trip ever!

I'm beat.... I did get a lot done tonight though! There was water in the sump......

more pics when I get up in the morning!

Opie- when it gets warmer up, I can build you a hood.

Brian- Yes, the best part is yet to come, for now, its work!

WATER!!!!!

WATER!!!!!

Opie- Hood summer

Bill- Hood in 2 years

Thanks Marcelo, I'm trying to keep the work going, but I pulled a muscle on my left lower abdomen. I really think I got it helping lift this thing up my stairs.... I thought it was a hernia, but the doc said no.

What's the point of finishing the plumbing if you're not gonna do a wet test at 2 in the morning?!?!?

I LOVE the bubble box.

The soft hose is temporary. There will be a coupler and hard PVC later on tonight when I get the coupler thingy. Makes breaking down that part of the sump for maintainance easier.

With a little help from his many friends.

I want one!:D

Lights

Lights

All the wiring is done for the lights..... I test fired the actinics one last time. The next time they're on, hopefully it'll be where the tank needs to be!

Due to my slightly incapacitated state, I was trying to figure a way to make hauling water easier. After walking around Lowes and HD for a little while, I noticed a shop vac- Duh. why didn't I think of that sooner?
