My 8.5-gallon 360-view LED Hexagon is back on

I made a few modifications to my tank after the move. Now it's a bit shorter. I should take a pic during the day otherwise even my camera's custom white balance selection screws us the colors.

Taller tank 10-gallon(a few months ago):

Simple modifications 8.5 gallon(now):

Thank you. I was actually surprised that the conversion took about a few hours. It probably was b/c I had many pictures of how my live rock was originally organized and everything 'fell' into place the first time.

I took some pictures during day time and they look so much better.

I will call my friend and try to get more zoas and some fragments as I lost a few when everything was sitting in Ikea box for months and lighting schedule was a mess/ non existent. Buying coral and zoas in New York is very expensive.
Yes, I have to move all cables under the stand.

I have two small clowns and thinking about getting 2 tiny blue chromis fish. I would love to get your advice? Since they are a grouping fish I guess getting one will be bad idea ???

My setup also looks and works like the one ninjafish used to have. Here is the link and video. The only tiny difference is that I have LED and he has a MicroTron A pump to keep
the water level super accurate. Once I get this pump ($200-250), I will be able to leave my tank unattended for weeks/month.

Damn, just came back from Petco, tried to get some hermits and snails, they are all freking dead there (3 tanks full of them). Two tanks have ick. Baby lionfish is all shaking as if someone is zapping it with low current. Poor parrots look very sad.

Will have to stop by the local LSF next week.

sweet tank! I love the led lights. what fixture is that? Where do you have your fuge hooked up to your tank? where in NY?

The fixture is PFO Galileo I9 48W. Unfortunately, not in production anymore. I was lucky to grab only one listed on ebay new for $200. If you can find it, grab it. Its very nice/bright. It has night light built-in.

I bet you never checked the links I posted if you're asking about the fuge. Check the first link in this thread and Ninjafish video link I posted. I use modified eheim as a fuge - my system is closed circle. I haven't had any problems two years i'm using it. I clean the filter once in two/three weeks and dump half of the chaeto.

What a great idea! The eheim i have is a circular one but I dont think it has containers inside of it to hole the stuff

My two clowns are very happy today, were not happy last two days. Probably got unused to lots of light or/and ate too much.

I want to get 2 tiny blue-green chromis, do you guys think it's a good idea? Then I'll have:
2 small clowns
2 small chromis
and it will positively be max for this tank!

Its cool that you found that old link. It actually have detailed pictures of what i have in my filter..

Neon goby i had in my old thread died/got killed though. He was getting sucked into the filter b/c he liked to play on the intake
and living where my chaeto is for months. I think that two emerald crabs I had in my chaeto cooked him for dinner/ played hide and seek.

You can get eheim on Ebay and that is exactly what I did.
The problem i see in my setup is that if the filter dies(i have it for 5 years), I will not hear/know a thing because setup makes absolutely no sound and the current
from the filter is quite wide.

1. Very nice and clean tank. You should be proud of it.
2. I remember ninja’s tank from years ago and forgot I made a post in it between the “discussion” DS and NJ's views about rubble. I asked a question but never got much of an answer to it.
3. I looked but missed this but where did you get your submersible light at for growing cheato?

Thanks.

I'm glad you found the link. You can also search on yahoo/google for 5W fountain lights and maybe find them for less...

I took the pic of the tank sunday morning lights are still off. My water level is about 2-3mm from the edge and when the night mode kicks in it looks like zeroedge tank. My two clowns are constantly spying on me and swimming sideways on the surface and making their heads stick out of the water in the morning asking for food... they are like two little dogs.

I also checked water parameters two days ago and they were very good.

Alifer, I saw your tank and the question. All the answers are in this thread. Check the links it's all here..!

It looks like you're messing with your tank a lot and there is some kind of bucket underneath it. Koralia Nano for example has a magnetic attachment and will be fine on the side of your tank.

Also, instead of drilling the cylinder in the middle, I would go more to the side so you can position your rocks in the middle. In my opinion, for small tanks like we have it's nice to have a very clean look and hide all tubing as much as possible..

A small video of my tank... one clown fish is hiding...
