Hi All,
I am going to show you the beggining of my 12G NC and the most recent pics that I took about 5 minutes ago :)

Thats my clownfish, Nemo :) Do you think he is a perc or an ocellaris?

Right now, Nemo is the only fish in my tank..I hope to add some type of Blenny soon. I also have some various soft corals (polyps & mushrooms) & LOTS of hitchhikers (good & bad).

Any comments/suggesstions etc are much appreciated! Happy Reefing!

Clean off the inside and outside of the glass. I use a razor blade to scrape coralline off. Other than that it looks like you are off to a good start.
 
Scrape the coralline off and wipe down the glass so we can see inside better! :) The clown looks to be an ocellaris...it doesn't have the thick black bars that perculas have.
 
Thx for the advice! How really do you get it off? I would be nervous using a blade because it could scratch the glass..what do you think? Thanks :)

Do you think a firefish would be a good addition for my clown? Im just nervous about the jumping into the filter ( I have a hood on the tank).

I have always understood firefish to be social/schooling fish. That said I have seen many people keep them alone in nanos lately so maybe I'm behind the curve on them as of late.

I always like to suggest the yellow watchman gobie because I have kept one in my seven gallon minibow since 01'. And they will form a symbiotic relationship with a pistol shrimp as another perk.
 
try a MAGFLOAT...(or toothbrushes always work wonders ;))

Fire Fish are fun..great addition to your tank forsure!

Yes, I have a Magfloat, but honestly, it doesnt work for me... :( I will try some different ideas. I think a friend of mine is picking me up a firefish tomorrow for my tank..are there any suggesstions you give me when feeding or compadibility etc? Would this be the last fish I would want in my tank? Any advice would be great! Thank you everyone for your help.
 
Firefish are great for nanos! I have one in my 10g. AGA. Just be sure to keep the lid on your tank--they are very skiddish. Last week he jumped right through the egg crate and on to the floor. I am glad I was there to pick him up and put him back in...he's been doing fine ever since.

I say go for it, they're great fish and stay about mid water column.

Don't use a razor on a tank with rounded fronts or acrylic tanks. I use to use a credit card until my JBJ blew one of those rounded corners. I havea square tnak now and I use a mag float. Some ppl like coralline in there tanks too.....

Ok, well..today, a friend of mine picked me up 2 purple firefish..yes i know not a good idea right? They were introduced into my tank at the same time, from the same LFS and from the same tank..do you think they will be agressive towards each other? I am not worried about my clown..more about my firefish..they seem to be alright, but I am a bit nervous. Let me know your ideas. Thanks :)
