i transfered all the sand and half the water from old tank, looks like everything is still alive and hopefully they will like their new home, and now is the waiting game again, wait for tank to stabilize, wait for coralline algae to grow, go thru hair algae, green algae, cyano, all i can say is bring it on, lol

Hopefully tomorrow i will conect a fan for heat issues and a phosban reactor and a carbon reactor, i will post photos later, thanks for looking

u got it my friend, question jc, are those t5 nice??, i want to keep some SPS and clams and i was thinking on getting some t5 but dont know is they are strong enough to keep this kind of corals..
what do you think??

I like the T-5s a lot - don't get me wrong, there's nothing like the shimmer of MHs, but I'm more interested in keeping my power bill and temperatures lower. Also, the bulbs don't need to be replaced as often. I don't have any SPS yet, but from what I've heard, plenty of people say they flourish under T-5. The key is to have enough wattage and the correct spectrum.

thanks jc, btw the link did not work, i'm thinking on getting t5 for the same reasons, low power consumption and less heat, or i will probably keep my power compacts for now, decisions decisions, i will have more pictures today.

i found this on one of my rocks, its stringy and green, looks like really thin green alagae but i swear its moving on its own, could it be a spaguetti worm????

one other thing i noticed in my new tank is that the PH does not go above 7.9, i dont want to dose an alk buffer till im sure that it is not a faulty probe, i get an 8.2 ph on my test kits tough.

i will get into some sps and lps in the future and would appreciate any advice on calcium reactors and kalkwasser reactors, so i can control ph better.

thanks for looking

Wow - that looks great! I like the sense of depth the tank has. That tang is the reason I regret having a 55 gallon every day!

hello fellows, i have a lot of microbubbles coming from the return pump, any ideas on how to control them???

sana

I have the same issue with microbubbles (though I've managed to lessen the problem a bit). This weekend, I plan on having my drain water empty into a filter sock to contain the microbubbles that come from that - I'm also going to try to direct the output of my skimmer to the filter sock (for the same reason). I believe this will help.

When I first made my sump, I had a ridiculous amount of microbubbles until I slowed my flow down considerably.
