Hi all,

just to share my tank pic after 8 months... still got some growing out to do and also some mess to clear after my squamy knocked my entire rockscape on the right down...

Nice butterfly. Can you give a rundown of the equiptment with pics for the rest of us? Any products you are using?(Zeo, Prohibo, etc.)

How big is that Mitratus butterfly? I have one now, but he is only a small guy, like 2-3". Yours looks like it's almost 4-5"?

I'm not using zeovit... just believe in a oversized skimmer dat's ozone-fed... :)

Here's a run down of my list of equipment:

Tank Specs :

Tank : 60"x33"x27" 12mm Glass Tank with Front Crystal Glass Panel.
Sump : 48"x24"x18" 10mm Glass Tank
Return : Sequence Hammerhead
Wavemaker : Tunze TS24, 1xTunze6060, 3xMaxijets1200
Lights : 5x250W (Combination of BLV 10KK & 14KK) + 4x80W T5 HO ATIs
Chiller : Resun 1HP Commercial Chiller
Skimmer : Customised DIY 60"x8" Diameter Beckett Skimmer
Calcium Reactor : Customised 48"x8" Diameter Recirculating Calcium Reactor.

Here's a pic taken 5 months ago...

What am I missing? If the tank is just 8 months old, and that second pic was taken 5 months ago.....that is a pic of a 3 month old tank. Most 3 month old tanks aren't stable enough to add any corals, yet this shows full colonies :confused:
 
Guess it must have been due to several factors, initial use of 250g of distilled water for salt mix, cycling for abt 4 weeks prior to the 8 months, use of a oversized skimmer fed with ozone, use of lots of po4 removal media and Salifert's Phospate Eliminator, washing/changing the filter wool every 2-3 days, weekly change of about 4% of the water, plus some chaeto in the sump... :)
