Now that's a skimmer!!! How tall is that thing, 4 foot? Duel beckett, very nice. What pump (pumps) do you use to drive it?

Whiskey

It's almost 5 foot... :) Driven by a Iwaki MX-100 on twin becketts... :)

Very nice! I take it that is not under your tank.

That puts my TurboFloater to shame  Even makes my MR2 look tiny.

Great tank! About how much skimate do you pull every week? What color is it? How often do you need to clean your front glass?

Thanks,
Whiskey

Hi Wiskey,

the skimmer is that the side of my tank.... :)

The skimmate used to be awesome, had to clean the skimmer cup (I dry-skim) every 2 days to remove all the gunk, but in recent times, it has increased to 3-4 days...

I'm still trying very hard to pull the po4 level down, as my rocks are not 100% cured and are still leaching po4, I clean the front glass daily but its a one minute job, it can do without any cleaning for 2-3 days but I just cant stand the sight of any algae... LOL....

Currently, I'm slowly trying to reduce the thickness of the sandbed as I find its still too much and its trapping detritus... :)

Very cool, thanks for the info. Btw, if you were to skim wet I would bet that your P04 would go down. It worked for me, and my friend.

Po4 from the rocks is the main concern... I still get lots of rocks with all sorts of algae growth... am trying to starve them out as time goes by... :)

very beautiful, have you noticed your mitratus butterfly misbehaving at all with the lps?

Nope... no problem so far, I try to keep all my fishes well fed to hopefully reduce the possibility of such things happening... It nips occasionally at my SPS polyps but not to a detrimental level... :)

I knew I recognized that tank. Lookin' good "boss" lol.

I'm a lurker over at absolute....

hi there hciev,

I noticed your nick in Absolute Reef too!! stop lurking and join in the discussions!!!! :D

WOW! that is great growth!!! You have to be proud of yourself as the water quality is perfect in your tank by how your corals react. Not many people can do that.

Is your flow pretty strong? Also, what kind of sand did you use and is it a problem with your flow?
