warboc...why did remove the far baffle on the right? now im wondering if i should do the same

It's not a problem for it to be there. I removed mine when it came partially undone due to faulty handywork on my part. I realized the baffle was not necessary though.

Here is a pic of my 90 gallon and the overflow is more to the right too.

This may be helpful to some people. My water change method:

I have two clear 20 gallon rubbermaid tubs. On each of them, I have a line at the same spot, marking the 18 gallon mark. The day before my water change, I use my ro/di unit to fill the mixing tub with water to the line.

I add my salt while it is filling. Having done this a few times, I know how much salt is needed. I run the maxijet and heater in it for that night.

The following day, I do my water change. I have a twenty foot clear tubing that fits onto the maxijet. I run this from my tank to the second rubbermaid tub, which is placed just outside. I pump water out into the tub until it is to the line, then cut off the pump. I bring the tubing outside and get rid of any extra water in it.

I then use the maxijet and tubing to pump water from my mixing tub to the tank. Voila. The whole water change process takes me about twenty minutes. I based my methods off of advice I got from people here. Beforehand, water changes were a real pain/ordeal for me.

Pretty cost effective method too. The clear tuning was only a couple dollars, the rubbermaid tubs were five dollars a piece. Maxijet around 15-20 dollars. Made things sooooo much easier for me!

warboc...you read my mind i guess

I was wondering what a good water change method would be...thanks. - are you doing it from the sump or from the tank?

During the past week I decided to take down my oldd 55 gallon tank. I gave away my triggerfish that was in it and I moved the other three fish to my 90 - sailfin tang, orange watchman goby, & scooter blenny.

Here is a tank shot from today, things are starting to grow just a bit:

My lawnmower blenny often hangs out around the scooter blenny:

looks cool :)

i have been running my 90g setup with only RO water for the last 2 days and i have cloudy water and many many tiny microbubbles\particels....is that normal when first setting up the tank?

Early on in the cycle, cloudy water is to be expected. Dunno what stage you are at.

Speaking of cloudy water.... Putting the orange watchman in my tank was like dropping a small bomb in. He made a HUGE mess of the water by turning up all the sand in the tank. Sand which had not been turned up beforehand. It's almost settled back down now though.

i hear ya on the gobby...when i had the diamond goby he caused quitea bit of sand storms...your tank is looking good...keep it up.

I have not added anything to my thread in a while, so here is an update. I lost a couple of fish over the past few weeks, to ich I suspect. I had moved my fish from my old 55 into the tank and about a week after I noticed my sailfin tang had indications of ich. Checking that night after lights out, I saw a few more fish had indications of it as well.. sigh...

Well, I started soaking all their food with garlic exctract and it really helped to get things under control. However, I lost my royal gramma and one of my mated true percs. A couple of weeks later, all seems well.

Additionally I lost a third fish, a kole tang, because it went carpet diving. I put egg crate on top of tank and will get a new kole tang soon.

I've added a few corals. From a lfs I added a candy cane frag, an open brain, and a frag of a nice colored montipora.

I added several zoo frags from yourreef.com today. Not really impressed with them but the colors are decent. Seacrop.com has much nicer zoo frags imo.

Those should be the last things added to my tank for quite some time.

PS: My camera is being a pain, pictures are coming out dark all of a sudden.. No patience to fool with it right now heh...

Oh no, tang police, run!!! ;)
just kidding

It was sold to me by a lfs about a year and a half ago, when I bought my 55 gallon tank. Until last month, it was still in that tank. For now it is in my new 90.

Did not know any better when I got it, but of course I do now. A friend just bought a 140 and I will be giving it to him in a few months when that tank is established.

So to answer your question, yes it is enough.. for now. :)

okay...for the record...i'm not tang police...i was trying to see if i can keep one in my 90g - they are purty!!!
