My 90 Gallon Build

Thanks Brooke!
Elite, I used black spay paint for plastic
otterpop510, thanks. I'm using a 3/4" SS. The flare Y advertises that it does not restrict flow but the flow isn't great. I may switch out the flares for a regular round output nozzle.

Jordan, you saw my split flares. It still allows you to cover the whole tank and gives you the fleibility to kill dead spots. I might even have some. I know I have some Y's and other various necks.

It works on glass tank?? I picked up a glass tank and going to paint the back too. That's why I ask. Your tank looks pretty good :D ...

Mark, I think I want to switch over to how you currently have it (on a Y with the stock output nozzle) I have all the parts to do it, I'm still thinking about it though.

Elite, It works great! I also used it for my 10 gallon nano.

Here are some pics of the rock I got in the bay area. I still have some big pieces to add and lots of aquascaping to do. I just threw them in there for now. That HUGE piece in the right is a big plate piece of rock. I just have it leaning on the wall for now. It will look sweet when I aquascape it correctly.

Just finished my aquascaping! I'm not super happy with it but it's sturdy and I think I'll grow into it. John hooked me up with some SWEET cherry picked pieces of rock! There are nice porus flat pieces, an awesome man made aragacrete cave, and a big piece of fiji pukani fused porites rock (say that 10X fast :) ). Here are the pics! More when it clears up.

Jordan,

Lookin good! About those nano-streams... Have you thought about modding them? I just modded my 6025's with all the goodie mods (wide-flow, full blast) and holy cow do they rock. Tons of flow, but gentle and widespread. It's definitely something worth reading up on.

Lookin forward to the rest of this build. Gonna be a killer reef!

Cheers!

Jordan- Looking good. How many times have you switched things around? Lets do a water change today and get some snails and a few crabs in there. Heck, I have extra snails and crabs...LMK.

Thanks Pat! I've thought about it but I already have a TON of flow. I may mod them when the corals start to grow and block the flow. What mods did you make?

Mark, I've switched things around a couple times and am pretty happy with it now. I've got a CUC waiting in the 10 gallon. I'll be adding them a day or two.

mkent, thanks!

Here's an update for you guys. Things are looking good so far. No nitrates as of now. The one hermit and the few corals that were on the rock are doing good.

Mark, If you look real closely you can see the little frogspawn I added on the bottom right. I couldn't help myself :)

Doug, It's working out great so far! Nice random flow. Since I have the other 2 nanostreams facing the front center the current surges from right to left depending where the stream on the sea swirl is facing, with one stream facing the opposite way. In other words it switches from 2 pointing left and 1 facing right to 2 pointing right and 1 facing left. Not sure if that makes since but either way you need to stop by and see. :p

Nice. I have some zoa frags for you when you are ready. Some ring of fire, pinks, bam bams and such. You know the ones.

I switched out my mag 9.5 for a mag and finally hooked up my sump to the main tank. I'm acclimating inverts and corals now. :)
