My Anemone is on a killing spree

For about the past too days my Ritteri has been moving all over the tank and mowing down all my corals. What can i do to stop it and why is it doing it i feed it regularly and my water test are good any advice i will take anything...

There are a few things you might try to keep him in place. Put something like a strawberry container over him until he attaches, or pile up some rubble pieces around him. He's probably on a walk-a-bout. They seem to do this ever so often. I don't think they are necessarily unhappy, I think it's just the forces of nature at work.

Addressing the lighting question, old bulbs may have shifted their color spectrum and the nem dosen't like it. If it's an old tank double check your nitrates. High trates can cause them to want to change their place to find conditions like they were previously in.

Or, could just be a walk-a-bout. I've had them roll and tumble all over the tank. And yes, there will probably be some casualities if he continues with his unruley behaviour.

Ritteri's need a lot of light and strong flow. He's probably looking for the perfect spot. Rearrange you rock work & power heads as much as possible so that it can get these two things.

Thanks alot, for lights i have 4x96 power compacts the bulbs are about 5 months old.. and the tank is about 9 months old the nitrates tested fine it used to just sit up on the glass in front of one of my returns but then it got sucked into the overflow i got it out and after that it has been moving all over the place but all day it has been stuck on my gsp's so hopefully it gets off and finds another rock to live on... Thanks alot for the help

I had the same lighting you did, pc are extremely weak, they were not even capable of supporting a rose anemone I had. Then I upgraded to t5 and the light is so strong that the anemones moved downwards.

IME, ritteri's like a smooth surface to attach to. try placing it on the glass for the meantime, and get a smooth piece of liverock- shelf rock or a rock that has a relatively hole-free surface for the anemone to attach to. My nearly 2yr old has been attached to the same piece of shelf rock since I got it, and has not budged from its position with several shifts around the tank by me.
