I got some anemone's i wanna show you. And mij clown fish. I think its a clarkii but im not sure friday im gonna buy her a mate. :love2:

I also got a really big brown with purple tip anemone ( its a big guy ) I changed my aquarium yesterday ( after my clownfish devestated my hole aquarium) Now my stones are really strong and cant fall. My purple tip is standing on 2 stones on the streaminghead. I know it wont walk so it stands really save their. I got lucky all my anemones wont walk from the place i put the in. Only the red ones will walk a bit on their rock but the never leave it.

Even my little tiny anemones have been devided. I had yesterday 2 and when i woke up this morning i had 4. They are all the same size en colour. I didnt change much only the rock so why it has decided to devide ?

I'm a bit confused about these last couple posts, and your first one but ill give it a shot...
Fist, Yes that is a Clarkii. In regards to what i think your question is; The reason they are likely splitting is because of some change in water chemistry that they DONT like. It is more common then not that anemones split out of stress then, great water quality. You mentioned messing around with the rock work, perhaps you introduced a foreign contaminant to the tank while your hands were in there? Or perhaps you stirred up some sand bed that release some chemicals.

Couple questions; 1.)How long have you had the tank? 2.)How long have the nems been in the tank. 3.)What type of lighting do you have? 4.)If you can post your parameters please.

I have the tank for a couple of months now and my clown fish for about 2 weeks now, its 14 years old  I will buy her a mate tommorow.

I know my salt is 1024 but the others i never messure. I dont have bad algea and all my corals are always open and growing. I always messured with my fresh water tanks and it brought me more bad stuff then good. So if i dont see really disturbing things in my tank i wont messure only the salt quility :fish2:

My tank btw is a red sea max 130 old version.

the clown is 14 years old? where did you get her?
As far as a "couple months" usually people suggest waiting at least 6 because that gives time for tanks to settle and time for a tank to have stable params...

Anemones are harder to keep then regular corals because they are sensitive to even slight changes in water parameters, mainly salinity, temp and pH. In my experiences they dint react to these changes visually untill it accumulates and they seem to say Ive had enough, then go downhill fast.

In my opinion not testing and only using the visual test is only effect in established tanks with experienced reefers. Thinking that "my corals look good so the water must be good is a bad idea" because the water may bee good for a certain coral but not for a more sensitive anemone... I see in your pic you have Xenia, if that's what you are basing your visual reference for then that's a large mistake, Xenia usually thrive in "dirtier" water.

I would guess that your lighting is less then what is required to have an anemone... I'm not sure what the stock 130 has but i don't think its enough. Looking at your pics the anemones are STRECHING high for light. Assuming the lighting is the only problem in the tank then i would say you can get by on feeding the anemones more then normal untill you can upgrade the light... if it's a parameter issue you need to get that in check and stable otherwise they could die in a month or two.

This tank is way older then 3 months i bought it from somebody complete with live rock and anemones. Sorry had to say this before i think :o

I got my clown fish for free from one of the other forum guys in the netherlands. The clown fish is a pain in the ... but i love her, thats why im gonna buy her a mate. Perhaps se loses her pms then.

I will take some water to the local reefshop to test it. But i change 10 liters a week so i dont think i will have bad parameters but will see.

For the rest i have no idea if the strech out for the light. They always look verry happy, and eat good so i dont see a problem here. They all grow and look really beatifull ! And if you can see my brown anemone with purple tips. Its a realy hard anemone and when we moved the tank from the old owner to my house it bleached a bit, but look at it now its really beatifull brown ! So i wouldnt say my anemones have a bad housing. She even preduces new tentacels the are so tiny. And if my red tips are looking for more light they should just climb up the tower, and the dont, they are sitting on the bodem literly. Even my little baby anemone is sitting in the shade of the stone for 3 days now and wont move to the light. So i take good care of them, and they wont leave my tank for a long time ! because i love my anemones.

btw does my brown with purple tip have a natural host i could buy for my her ?

Well last friday my local reef shop tested my water and sayed i shouldnt be worried and everything looked good :bounce2: So im very happy, and bought myself 2 yellow brown bubbletip annemones. I will try to post some pics tommorow they look really cool. I only need to get my hands on some green bubble tips to complete my anemone rock. The number of anemones on my rock are now 7. 5 red bubble tips and 2 brown/yellow bubble tips. :D

So you have 7 anemones in 34 gallons?:thumbdown

I'm sure you like your anemones, but have you researched them at all? You kinda sound addicted to buying new anemones... hope it turns out okay...

I got some new pic's of my 2 bubbletips i picked up.

Before i had my clarkii my bubbles would sometimes bubble up, but now i got a clarkii the arent doing it annymore, im kinda glad because i dont like it when the bubble, i love the long tentacles waving in the flow. Even my old grandma ( i called my 14 year old clarkii that) is happy she can even dissapear in my biggest red bubble tip what her main anemone is. I think when anemones bubble is due to stress, my smallest anemone is bubbling atm this little guy picked his spot on him self, he's a bit in the shade, you can see i took this pic today because of my new anemone thats on it to. I dont know why you guys make such a drama about it, i dont see you guys shouting at the 27 anemone fish tank ( even its way bigger then mine) i love that tank and as you can see those anemones have long tentacles aswell, to give the anemone fish more cover, because if my bubbletip would be bubbling my old grandma cant even swim in it ( she is huge) I hope you injoy my pics, the colour that looks the best is the golden anemone from the 27 clownfish tank, i hope to hear if im correct or not. :bounce2: ( the colour on the tips is yellow greenish and the body is brown)
