well i have had this guy for a while now and ever since i got him he hasnt eaten anything ive tryed mysis and chromis (he was about to die) and brine and a bit of flake and he shows no interest he just shrimks up or lets them fall out with the current so what gives its a seemingly healthy large gbta and i cant figure it out i hope it doesnt reflect onto health

Maybe it's just not hungry, and is getting its energy from your lighting. I'm sure it helps that you have a 250 watt halide over a 29 gallon tank. As long as it looks fine and is acting ok, I think you should be fine.

do you have clowns hosting it? what size food are you feeding? 3/8" piece is large enough for most anemones.

my perams are

nitrate 40ppm (i know i know)
nitrite 0ppm
ammonia 0ppm
ph about 8.1

no clowns hosting and i have been feeding tiny pieces lik 1/4"

What does the anemone's mouth look like tightly closed/hanging open?

Are It's tentacles sticky?

As other have suggested try other things. Things I've tried in the past are raw shrimp from the seafood dept at the grocery store, raw clams from the same, Formula 1 cubes, cyclopeze, krill, silver sides. What I would suggest is go to the grocery store seafood dept and ask for a little bit of everything that comes from the ocean and is raw/untreated, I saw try this first because it shouldn't cost more than a dollar or two. If they look at you funny tell them you are trying to figure out what your anemone likes. Then start trying a small piece of each thing over a few days to try and is it likes any of it. Also be sure to pull out of the tank and food it does not eat so the food doesn't foul your tank.

Anemones DO need to eat in order to live so this could be a concern. But he may get enough food from when you feed the fish. It's still a good idea to try and find out what it likes before it becomes stressed rather than after.

well the mouth is closed but it has huge "lips" the only time the mouth ever opens is when i do a water change i will try the seafood idea are you sure that adding the food even if i take it out wont jack up my water>

Did you get your anemone eating yet? I must have missed this detail, what kind is it? If it's not eaten yet, keep trying different things. I nearly starved my btas by switching them from silversides to shrimp. I know other people feed cocktail shrimp to theirs but mine simply refused to eat them. I only found out when I caught them spitting out the undigested pieces a few hours after feedings. As soon as I switched back to silversides, they recovered nicely (they had bleached and lost their tentacles, looked near death).

I learned the hard way what mine will and won't eat. It can take some experimenting to determine the preferred diet sometimes.
