the really high end ones are the lemond drop and flame btas. But 125 isnt completely unreasonable for a rbta...have definitely seen them higher than that...

srusso, those are definitely not "baby BTAs." They are tulip anemones, which some people find to be pests.

Are tulip anemones known to bubble up? Like a BTA? I personally have seen these anemones have bubbled tips.

I am sure you all know better then me, but I tell you the coloration matches to the original BTA so perfectly...

I guess only time will tell... I completely plan on keeping this thread going. If I am correct or wrong. I think it's an important thread to have in here...

So how can we dig into this more?

What do how do BTAs differ from tulips?

What is the scientific name of the tulips?

What is the largest a tulip will get?

Thanks all for taking a look and helping me!

Tulip anemones typically max out at around 2 inches, and yours do look QUITE like them.

Here's an idea: get a bag of frozen mysis and hand feed one that is easy to reach. Give it one or a couple mysis every other day (depending on it's size) for a month or two. If it's gonna get big it'll do it. And if it's gonna split, it'll probably do that by then too.

Will do, let's see if it will split.

Sorry to hear about your rbta,I agree with others about the other anemones being tulips.I have kept rbtas with a lta with no apparent problems that I could see.Btw,your flower anemone is awesome looking.

Never heard of one, but I'd like to know it as well if there is one out there. Never seen one for majanos either, come to think of it.

If any of them grows to the size of that rock they're on I'll be sold, but not before! Thanks for keeping us updated.

Not a bubbletip nem , however, one persons trash can be anothers treasure . . . but I would get rid of those unless you dont mind them on everything. They make a cool looking carpet eventually . . . A LFS I used to shop at had them in a display. Dang things eventually caused her to tear it down to get rid of them. JMO:rollface:

On side note, I have grown Rose bubbletips and rock nems in the same tank for years. I doubt thats what caused the RBT's demise. I have had mixed success when I buy translucent BTA's like yours was. Some make it but most dont, you'd be better off finding a "browned out" nem than a translucent one IMHO. Regardless, find another and try it again. I have had great results with RBTA's since my ATS install.

my new h mag got chewed up by the powerhead and crashed my whole tank, think you're lucky your nems's quite small. I always use sponge protectors to stop this happening again.
