My Australian 950lt SPS tank

Hi Sahin if you have anymore question please inbox me rather than post on my Tank Journal.

All fluorescent tubes emit "full spectrum" light. (That being emitting a variety of colors from UV to IR.), but peak or are dominant in certain color temps.

Hi Guys, Ive been a bit busy with life lately, so here are the goings on for the last few weeks...
I have had a fair few request for equipment shots, and I just happened to get a new skimmer, so here we go.
Now its not the neatest setup out there, but this setup is purely functional.
A wise reefer once wrote; "The easier your filtration is to clean, the more likely you are to clean it." This is the principal behind this system.

Also I came across a couple of AMAZING Acropora colonies I couldn't resist. A big thanks must go to Australia's best reefing shop, REEFLECTIONS AQUARIUM for these two maricultured beauties..

its an old kalk reactor that is recirculating. It works great! around 150lp passes through it I guess.
Thanks for looking

You know I never post here Jason, but I just had to. This tank is very impressive, definitely got a long way since the last tank of yours I've seen. I'll definitely have to come check this one out in person. Looks like they're getting some awesome specimens compared to last time I had a tank. =)
How's the Idol going anyway? I've always wanted one, but just didn't wanna risk watching it starve.

Hi Kirsty! Yes come check out the tank whenever! I have plenty of frags for you whenever you want too my old friend :)

Anyway, some pictures to inspire you Kirsty! ... :)

Hello everyone,

I have been tied up with the birth of my first child of late. She is one month old today!
Anyway as far as the tank is concerned, Ive FINALLY beaten a case of Dino's I had going
I cant exactly pinpoint how I beat them, as I was tryibg everything and anything to beat them.

I used the following techniques;

- Strong ozone
- reduced main lighting to 5hrs, with 2x54w tubes only remaining on for 8hrs.
- Zeovit Coral snow
- minimal water changes (only replaced vacuumed detritus water)
- Bio-pellets
- Manual removal

Currently my corals are a little dark as I firmly believe by raising nitrates slightly I have assisted removal of the Dino growth cycle by allowing other algaes in my refugium to compete with the Dinoflangellatte's for nutrients.
Lets hope the Dino cycle is gone for good!
