Thanks. I do get a good bit of coraline algae growth. However, I'm one of those people that can't stand it, and likes a nice clean background. So I end up scraping it off weekly... or at least before I take pictures.Looks like all the hard work is paying off.
From my observation, looks like you are going through different phases of algae which is a good sign. Sooner or later they will come and pass.
Question: You don't get any coraline algae or you clean your tank of them often?

I see, then I assume when your rocks are clean coraline algae will grown on them long term. This is what's happening to me.
Yeah, once the algae dies away the rock underneath is completely white, but it doesn't take long for the coraline algae to take over. Like you mentioned, I think I'm going through algae cycles, as I haven't really experienced the same algae twice, and have been experiencing the die off one type and the rebirth of another. :lol:I see, then I assume when your rocks are clean coraline algae will grown on them long term. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I have a feeling the bubble algae will be the last to go. :rolleye1:Tswifty, Recently I found that my powderblue came down with ich and it was starting to spread to the other fish. As of now all my fish are in a hospital tank and doing fine except the powder blue which I unfortunetly lost. I decided to take advantage of there being no fish in the tank and do some new aquascaping along with some cleaning. Yesterday, I removed like 15 gallons of nasty sludge from under my old rock formations and replaced the rocks in their new formation. Today, I came home and tested all my params expecting them to be bad do to all the stuff I stirred up. To my supprise my phosphates and nitrates were undetecable. Im on my second week of vodka dosing and now I dont know where to go with my dosing schedule. Should I stop and stay at this small level of .08 ml? Thanks for any help and your tank is coming along awesome. Be patient with the bubble algae, it always goes away in the end. Ive fought with it multiple times. Happy Thanksgiving
Tswifty great thread, i have been trying to follow it as often as i can. I have a question? i just started MB7 and im on my first week down, i do regular 5g water changes weekly, should i continue to do this. or do i have to change from weekly to biweek? also its a 66g rsm250 tank ty and keep it up
Thanks.great thread..
want to know what you plan to do about the bubble algae? It seems they are growing at an alarming rate and they need so little nutrient to thrive, they will out compete HA easily and also biopsys, which seems to be what is happening.
Your SPS are looking amazing though.
When I had that much bubble algae and SPS, they got into my birdsnest and some of the acro branches.

I would up the MB7 dosage, and cut the Vodka dosage in half until the Cyano disappears.Havin a cyno battle:uzi:. There one minute gone the next, so to speak. Wondering if maybe I should up the mb7 a little or the vodka. I will win the war. Maybe a little more patience:hmm5:
