So a week later and I have all kinds of little bubbles all over the LR and on parts of the glass. This is what happened just prior to my dino outbreak last time. No actual sighting of dino yet...will keep updated. How goes your battle?
I would like to note, in my findings, phos really has nothing to do with Dino's... Take that with a grain of salt, but I've got extenisive experience with them the last year and a half...

I agree with you Pallobi,
In everything I've read on dinos and how to get rid of them I haven't read anything that would suggest phosphates has anything to do with it. Having said that, even though I'm a newbie I know how important it is to keep phosphates down anyway.
I decided to stop at 6 treatments(12 days)Fauna Marin Ultra X. Normal dose for not so severe cases is 5 doses(10days)You can treat up to 21 days.
I am like some or most of the others on this forum and I really don't like using chemicals. I did the hydrogen peroxide 1 ml x 10 gallons and lights out for 3 days prior to this and am lucky...all came through ok. But, you know, all these chemicals are making me uncomfortable!(wonder how the fish and coral feel even though they all seem to be fine)
I can tell you I really beat this stuff up and really knocked it down but I am not so optimistic it's all dead. I want to be optimistic but I am being realistic.
So, today did my first wc and turned the lights up a bit. Will start the gfo/carbon reactor up tomorrow. We shall see! I have this feeling in my gut I'm in this for the long haul!!:crazy1:Keep ya posted.
I had a problem with something that looked like Dino's, can't confirm if it was them. I did a 3 day blackout though they were gone but once the lights came back on the began to grow again. So I decided to buy a GFO reactor and did a 4 day blackout. Not sure if the GFO got rid of them or the blackout but they've been gone for over a year.
I'm a few weeks after dosing, dinos are gone but now cyanobacteria, diatoms, and film algae has taken over. Skimmers been skimming like crazy! I'll just keep doing my weekly 20% water changes and forget about any more chemicals. Hopefully the tank will sort itself out.
Glad to read you don't see any dinos! I'm 2 weeks after dosing the Fauna Marin Ultra Algae X and I still see none. I'm just concerned that the "residue" (for lack of a better word)that was left behind on the rocks by the "dead" dinos will spring back to life any day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.:hmm6:
I've been keeping my LED lights at 50% and watching my phosphates closely.(reading yesterday w/Hanna checker=.10)Too high. Not sure why because Ive cut back on how much I feed fish/corals. Running GFO/carbon reactor. ???
Hang in there. I know I'm learning a lot about reef keeping because of this so in a way this has been a positive challenge. And as Chriskid said there will be many more to come!!:fish1:
