My best catch to date !

looking great! this inspires me to go collecting again. nothing quite so lovely on the North Carolina coast, but I can get some cool inverts and macroalgae. it's always a thrill for me, even with common stuff.

Here is an updated pic from today. Still in the frag tank, but almost ready to go into the main DT

Amazing to see the so much change in such a tiny fish...how big was it when you first collected it? Half-inch?

Well I'm just looking at my pics.
Egg grate is 15mm square , and I reckon he is about 1 square long when I first caught him, so yes, just over 1/2 an inch.

I really didn't thing I would be able to raise an angel this small.
Although I was excited when I first caught him, I was also somewhat circumspect that I was probably going to loose him. The quandry at the time was : do I leave him be and catch him in say 2 or 3 weeks time. The risk was would he still be there, or would he be eaten, caught by someone else or just have moved off into deeper water?

Luckily (and with a bit of effort) its worked out so far.:bounce2:

That is really cool!! I wish I had a tank big enough for angels. I find it so fascinating that their colors and marking morph as they get bigger. Also I enjoy getting baby fish so that I can watch them grow.

WOW !!!

I cant think of anything else to say :) just WOW!!!

my fav fish just got even more interesting !!! so they change color 3 times as it seems !!

Please post more pics of him :) absolutely gorgeous

okay looks like I said more than just wow :P good luck :)

glad you decided to collect her and congrats on the results! going to be exciting watching her grow! thanks for the updates--please, keep them coming...

Still thriving, almost time to move from the frag tank to the main DT.
Eating medium size Ocean Nutrition pellets now, getting attitide too, chases a small leaf wrasse (Anampses) around every now and again.

Travelling on business at the moment but will post some updated pics on the weekend.
Thanks for the interest.
