I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's help here! My large male OS was starting to get the dreaded back infection in his old 6 gallon tank and woudln't shed because he didnt have a good place to hide. Since a few months ago with the upgrade to the new DIY 20 he decided to close up his caves and shed. His back is still not perfect, but it is much improved. Thanks guys!!!

In general, I don't advise overfeeding stomatopods, but with O. scyllarus that have gotten over the first hurdle with shell disease, the sooner he/she molts again, the better. I would feed it as much as it will eat without compromising water quality by having bits of rotting, uneaten food in the system. Rather than uping the amount at each feeding, I would increase the number of times you feed each week - perhaps to once a day. If this halves the intermolt interval, the animal has a much better chance at a complete recovery.
