My Black Ocellaris pair are spawning!!!

Thanks folks. The latest batch including the boss are 18 days old :) My parents are a week late again... My wife said they were cleaning the tile and rubbing it / each other like mad this afternoon. I fully expected to see eggs tonight when I got home. The power has been flashing here this afternoon and was just off for 2 1/2 hours. That may have disrupted them. I'm glad I have a generator... It would be very hard to stir 5 tanks at once lol.

WOHOOO! :bounce3: The little buggers laid again. On the tile this time too.

Well its hatch night. I moved the eggs to the larvae tank. I They had the eggs so high on the tile I had to turn it upside down in the tank. I counted the eggs (i got bored) There was about 450 I could see and some behind one of them I figure about 500 ish. I set my bubble wand thingy so it circulates the water across the eggs but doesn't hit them with the bubbles. My rotifers and phyto are in good shape so I have high hopes for this batch. I'll update tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed for a good hatch.

Mmmm Skittles.

Good luck, I want 2 of them as well.
I will take one from the blue eggs & 1 from the purple eggs please:D

Thanks guys / gals. How about a couple regular Ocellaris that want to kill each other FB? Interested? lol The ones from the purple eggs are all spoken for dazed. They are very rare you know. They hatched last night. Well most did. I had about 100 that didn't I assume they will tonight. I haven't had a partial hatch yet so I'm a bit nervous the others may not be well. I haven't had a clutch this big either though. I lost probably 100 or 150 so far. I wish the survival rates with B&W's was better. Oh well I'll just do my thing and whatever I get I'll be happy with.

Too bad we couldn't trade eggs one day. I could see what I could do with your B&W's and you could have a large batch of occelaris to play with. They probably wouldn't take the travel well though.

hmmm, well then i guess i will have to settle for a couple of the not so rare blue ones, really it's ok i don't mind, lol.
I had a couple of partial hatches along the way even had some left over after a third day but they turned white and you know what that meant.

Mine didn't hatch after 2 days. The eggs still had black eyes but they were all slimy and stuck together. Not hanging loosely like normal. I guess they are kinda white. With a green tint from the phyto. It turns out this is going to be another low count to grow out. Bad eggs this time I think.

Just a thought but I've tried different techniques with bubbles and eggs. I thought the same thing about just circulating the water around the eggs. Didn't work. The successful hatches I've had are when the bubbles are actually hitting the eggs. It looks like your bubble wand puts out nice small bubbles, so as long as the bubbles aren't really battering the eggs, you may want to adjust the bubbles so they are touching the eggs.

I'm expecting 2 seperate hatches tonight so it will be a late night for me. Hoping they're good ones!
