My Black Ocellaris pair are spawning!!!

Thanks folks. My latest hatch seems to be doing quite well. I think there is well over 200. Possibly 250 still. They are fat and growing. Hopefully they do well and I don't screw it up lol. The 6 remaining from the middle group are still ok. I'll have to move them to growout early when the next hatch comes along. I'll put a divider in the tank if they don't get along with the bigger ones. The female is looking pretty fat. She'll lay again soon I'll take some more pics when she does.

Wow, three batches...wow!
You're using DT's right. Doesn't it contain a blend of different phytoplankton? I've seen some information that tetraselmis phyto acts as a antibiotic.

I have about 200 or so I think from the latest batch at 5 days old. My Rots are real low now so I'm starting to feed BBS tomorrow. I usually wait another couple days but I have no choice. I actually fed them some crushed flakes today and they ate. (As well as Rots) I'm doing 30-40% water changes daily now on the youngest larvae's tank. I took a pop bottle and cut the top off and attached a coffee filter to one end and air line to the other so I could siphon water out without wasting rots. I do a quick vac on the bottom of the tank before I switch to this. I'm dripping the water back into the tank slowly because I'm dropping the salinity to 1.020 to match my cultures so I only have to mix one big container of water instead of many different salinitys in smaller containers. I think we'll see them lay eggs again tomorrow or Wed.

I still have 29 of the origional batch. The bigger ones are probably 3/4" or so. They won't hold still while I hold the measuring tape.

Here's some pics. The youngest batch is doing well and I just fed them BBS for the first time. They are really fat right now. Its a good thing they are eating because I am almost out of Rots. They have a headband stripe tonight woohoo! The 5 left of 2 week olds are looking good now they are swimming around the tank. They used to just huddle in a corner since they lost their siblings.
The parents havent laid another nest yet. I really expected it to be today. Maybe tomorrow. She's getting pretty fat.

I couldn't get them all in the picture.

They go from having silver bellies when they are full on Rots to Orange / Pink bellies on the BBS.

best thread for sure

best thread for sure

i have never been able to understand the process until you started this thread thanks for sharing.

Here's tongihts nest! About 400 or so. They laid it just after 5:00pm. Its strange to me they do it the same time each spawn..

They've been 'married' a while... not mixin' it up like they used to. In a rut.

Love the thread. Thanks for sharing with all of us.

I have been following your thread for a long time now...thank you very much for all the pictures and information. Definitely one of my favorite threads!

Just found your thread today. Awesome job btw.

I've had a pair of black percs for over a year now. I got them when they were juviis, about 1", and now they are full sized clowns between 3" and 4". I've never seen them spawn and I'm wondering if it's because of my other tank mates. Do you have any other tank mates with your clowns?

Occupants list:
Scopas Tang
Coral Beauty
Purple Firefish
Mandarin Dragnet
2x Black Percs.
Fire Shrimp

Their clock is definately amazing. Mine hatch 15 mins to 30 after dark. Thanks Brandon I'm glad you are enjoying it. I don't think you have a tank mate problem Integral. I have alot of fish and mine spawn. Feed them plenty and often I've heard can help. I honestly didn't do anything to get mine to spawn. It just happened.
