Sorry about that. Now that you mention it I did know that you had eight left but I guess I read your thread too late last night and got confused with the other more recent attempts.

Or it could be that it's been over a month since we've seen a photo of the little guys! :) I'd love to see that second stripe!

Well i grabbed my camera and tried to snap a couple of photos showing the start of the 2nd stripe on my little ones, not the best of pictures but they did not want to cooperate this morning and hold still. They were more interested in knowing if i was going to feed them :D They are 110 days old today.

Looking good Chris! They do look very curious about where their food is...

So how is that batch of eggs that were laid last week looking?

My very first, my true percula clownfish, died last Friday. She was 12 years old. It's for her, temporarily.

Great looking clowns Dazed. Sorry to hear that Melev. My very first fish was Mamma Maroon. I've only been in this hobby for a couple years, but she's been there with me the whole time. I would hate to lose her.

Thanks; Today is the 10th day so they are coming out tonight before lights out. I am so glad that i waited and did not pull them last night. I wanted to as they are all silver tipped (and have been for 2 days now) but my notes show that it's either 10 or 11 days before they are ready to go. I plan to pull them tonight and have good news of a nice hatch in the morning.

BOOOOO!!! Melev sorry to hear about that. I wish that i had some that were ready to go; as i would just send you some for all of the help you have given me.

So the tile is still in the main tank with the male tending to it? Are there still a lot of eggs? You're not going to leave them in the tank and wait up late - trying to catch them when they hatch?!? :)

I too would try and perfect pulling the tile and placing it close to your bubble stream instead of waiting night after night.

Good luck. We look forward to some exciting news in the morning!

Yes the are in my main tank and yes the male does all of the tending to them, he even goes as far as not eating much while there are eggs to take care of. He eats well during the time between hatching and the laying of a new nest.

No waiting up tonight for me, i plan to pull the tile an hour or so before lights out and place it in one of my 5g tanks and with an airstone try and hatch the eggs.

Thanks i will post back tomm. on how it goes.

:sad1: Sorry about your loss ! :sad1: People who don't keep fish, don't understand how attached we get to our swimming friends.

Melev- Sorry to hear of your loss, but 12 years in itself is quite a feet(especially with the unavoidable tragedies in this 'hobby') so congrats on her well life lived!

Dazed- I expect to see a post in the morning pertaining to the copious amounts of fry you have, in addition, I want... WE WANT pictures! Congrats on momma laying on the tile this time too!

Ok update:
Well so so i had a partial hatch when i checked the tank this morning which does not suprise me much as they have done this in my reef as well. I took some pictures of the process last night as this was the first chance to get a real good look at the eggs.

Using FB's trick of counting the eggs i come up with 504!!:D
Each color group is a count of 50.

Some pictures of the tile in the tank and the bubbles flowing around the eggs:

anybody want to play find the new born clownfish?? ahhh i need a macro lens; Santa are you listening???

I went ahead this morning and added some IA & rotifers for the ones that did hatch my question for today is i did not turn down the bubbles yet? Should i or should i keep it the same and hope that the rest finish hatching tonight??

The bubbles are moving around the eggs well and the ones that i saw this morning do seem to have an area off to the side where they can get away from the flow?
