My Clarkii turned violent

My Clarkii clown that I've owned for nearly two years has turned violent against my other slightly smaller Clarkii. Both of these clarkii clown fish that I've had for nearly 2 years have acted normal, with all the normal bonding steps. The larger clown fish is biting and chasing and making clicking noise at the other clown fish. I'm wondering if the smaller clown is trying to overpower the larger clown or maybe this is just another step in the bonding cycle. I would like to hear if you have heard or seen this happen.

I would say at about 2 years old is probably right about spawning time if they have not already.
That would be my guess at what may be going on.
