Hi,
My clownfish bit my Anthias tail. It now looks like it has fungus on it. What would be the best treatment for him? Clout? Formalin? Please help. Thank you.

That's the best picture I can get. Sorry. =( It looks like fungus. My fish would not hold still. I took a bunch of pictures. Let me know what yo u think might work. Thank you.

The picture isn't clear enough to show anything.

Fungus is rare in SW and I doubt thats the problem. Cloudy fins are usually a bacterial problem that often clear up on there own. If the problem gets worse or doesn't clear up on its own then you might consider Qting the fish and treating with an antibiotic.

If the "fungus" takes on the look of a nodule then it might be lymph .. a viral disease similar to warts in humans .. tends to be a cosmetic issue and may clear up on its own.

Hi,
Looks like it's healing nicely. Wish I would have known or else I wouldn't have ordered formalin. Oh well. Always nice to have some back up meds on hand. Esp since I have both fresh and saltwater. Thank you all. If you look at the very back fin of his tail, you can see where my other fish bit him.
