My cool patterns Goldbar Maroon babies

Some bars on the ocellaris look thinner then other ones.

It can lead to slight imperfections in barring or extra barring. Im not trying to start anything im just telling you what i know the high the nutrients in your tanks the more of a chance of misbarring. It also could be your food as well.

Do you feed them both the same thing?

Are these your first clutches of your GSM?
 
Good nutrition and good water quality equals good stripes which are full stripes. But everyone in the hobby likes misbars, kinda funny how that works.

And since it's now paired with a male, turning female will postpone any successful spawning by up to two years or more. It already was female, and with dilegence could have been producing eggs right now. Only since this decision was made can I agree with others that it really is a waiting game right now (one that IMO didn't need to be played)

We all know about your feelings for Pederson. I guess if you were as influential and experienced as a breeder as him, or had the money for the fish, BlueZoo would have ASKED you to have the fish instead of him.

Like I said before, people love to complain and tell other people how they are incorrect in spending their money.

OP nice clowns. I miss my GSMs but they just weren't right for my reef. Too much sand kicking. You also have an amazing breeding setup! Your breeder tank is nicer than many peoples' display tanks!
 
Nice first clutch then man. Usually the better the water conditions the better the color and patterns are.

Thats how you get misbars or spots from heqvey feeding. Slow down on the feeding and you may also see a rise in clutch size. That extra food is mucking up the water.

Now if you want misbar stick with it but you will get misbars in cleaner water but not as many or not as misbarred.

Misbarred clowns are not unnatural as you can see from the lightening clown. They also seem to be thr craze
 
i am no expert,but if by overfeeding and compromising water quality one can create such type of pattern then i think we should have much more variety of CR clownfishes than what we see...
 
Day 3--Went to check on my 2nd batch of eggs and they are gone. I guess this is not a good batch so they ate it all.
 
Mike usually the first couple clutches are eaten or left indistubred, its lets the clowns get comfortable and acclimated to breeding.

Mike i think it looks cool as well im just letting you know, giving you some pointers

We do see so many different CR clowns, misbarred clowns are huge right now bigger then perfect barred.
 
I was there observing these GSM baby. Clean water quality as the ammonia never passes .02 in addition there was water change ~.3 gallon a day. Fry feeding is 3x brine shrimp a day after rotifier. Now they are on cyclop-eeze.

I do not believe in overfeeding cause this type of marking. He is very fortunate to have this rare genetic markup which is the same as Doni where she breed two regular Picasso and obtain a "œSnowcasso".
 
Congrats on all the attention and the unique babies, Mike! This is one of those threads I greatly look forward to seeing updates in! Keep the pictures coming as they develop! It would be interesting to separate a few and keep them individually so you can track the stripe patterns as they grow. I hope you are having as much fun with this as it looks.
