Params are: Calc @ 420, PH low at 8.0, alk low at 2.5......3 days ago, I just rearranged my rock work and noticed that alot of the Coralline has turned white.....any ideas? My profile information is up to date.....

well maybe its from moving your rock around. I know when I re aquascape if I put a rock on the bottom to the top it has to adjust for a couple weeks till its looking all sexy and purpley again.

Since you just had low Ph and alk, that is probably your problem. Get your alk, calcium, and mag in balance and it should recover quickly.

I agree, ideally mag should be at 1300 ppm, calcium ~400ppm and your alk slightly on the high side 11dkH for optimum corraline growth

pH is ok at 8.0, that's all I get because of carbon dioxide problems in the house

that said--you don't have a pincushion sea urchin do you--they love to eat corraline

I just realized something. About a week ago, I sold about 3/4 of the chaeto that was in my fuge........I had about 2 1/2 gallons of chaeto, now down to maybe 2 sandwich bags........

I don't think that will have any affect on corraline growth--possibly your phosphate and nitrate level
