Howdy everyone. As most of you know im a chef and i particularly love to cook bbq. Well this past weekend we entered our first competition and did awesome in the peoples choice (got "1st" place) basically sold the most samples @925 samples of brisket, pulled pork, chicken and ribs. We had a line going 40-50 deep for 3.5 hours. Jabel and mrbigl can attest to that. We didnt fare to well in the competition part as i overcooked my brisket and pork. But placed 27th in chicken outta 39. Ribs were i believe 32nd. Brisket 38th and pork 36th (i admit my bbq was definitely not up to my standards. Well either way had a great time and plan on doing more. (They say i did great considering we entered peoples choice and placed 1st and got all 4 entries in and none were dead last) this was saturday the 10th.
Fast forward to sunday, i got a catering for a after wedding brunch in santa Barbara (goleta) for a very well known entertainers son. That particular brunch will be in the hollywood bazzar magazine. soo yeah... needless to say, the food was a hit and got some killer compliments from the mother of the groom. I heard she was asking people who i was and from there wanted my number. Soo yeah things are looking up. My 4.5 hours of sleep in 3 days was worth it. Ohh and we placed a offer on a house today too....:celeb1::beer: thank you to everyone who has helped us through our ordeal. Especially my wife katia for pushing me to do bigger and better things, Rik, Dave and everyone else. Thank you for being my shoulders to vent!!!!:headwally: :celeb2::beer:

Congrats. I still need to get some of that brisket. Life has been crazy now that we're moving. Good luck on the house hunting.

Congrats Brent! Ryan told me you were doing a competition in Fillmore. Glad it went great. I hope the offer gets accepted! Location?

We tried soo many times dropping offers for places in Palmdale and Lancaster just to be outbid. We found a .83 acre lot with a 1750 sq ft house in lake los angeles. Rather stay closer to the west side but financially we cant. Plus im able to grow hogs, goats, chickens where we might be

Good to hear Brent! The first competitions are always a cluster f***, once you've done a few and find your traveling chef groove you're gonna crush it.

Good luck with the house. I've only had your bbq once, at one of the masvc frag swaps, and it was delicious! Congrats on the 1st place in peoples choice!

This man can really cook, if you haven't tasted his food you definitely need to. Good luck with everything!
