My denro hunts its own food :)

A couple months back I was able to snap pics of my dendro spitting out a stomatella shell. I thought this was an isolated incident.

Well, today it proved me wrong! It was fat and happy again today, and we upset it a little when we were moving things around in the tank and it started spitting out another stomatella shell!

Silly thing, guess I don't have to feed it tonight! I didn't get any pics of it this time, I figured they wouldn't be much different from last time. In case you're interested, I included a picture link to the album of the pics from last time, just click on the pic!

I've never heard of anyone else mentioning it,but I am sure it is quite normal.I doubt that they would pass up eating a good meal like that in the wild.In your sequence,it appears that the Dendro swallowed the whole snail, seperated the snail from the shell, brought both back up,spit out the shell, and reswallowed the snail body.

That's exactly what it did :)

Talented little sucker isn't it! ;)

It's happened twice now, and I haven't seen the dendro actually catch the snail. I would think the snail can get away, but I guess not
