My dream of a fleece roller

Good day,
I have a 210 gal with insignificant space under the tank where the sump is located. The tank is drilled and has two drain lines from the display which are connected to the sumps (pro clear red flex 400) first chamber which then overflows into filter socks (3). The reef mat 500 fleece roller was purchased (which will be upgraded to the 1200) and my plan is to place the fleece roller inside a separate tank that will be drilled (1 hole), and connect one of the drain line from the 210 to the fleece roller (in separate tank) and that will drain back into one of the sumps connection (where the original drain line was connected). Aside from only a portion of the water going through the fleece are there any other concerns I should be aware of?
Although i won’t totally be getting away from the filter socks, my goal is to add on a fleece roller and have additional space for other equipment. The tanks is an (in wall tank) so all equipment is housed in a separate room and out of sight.
Thanks any and all suggestions are welcome.

I don’t and haven’t run a fleece roller before so my advice is purely based on my opinion. I can’t immediately think of any direct concerns. That said, here’s how I look at it. Partly is you’re not completely stripping the water of nutrients by only running one drain. Also, the same logic could be used with a skimmer, they catch only a fraction of the water passing by them.
