My False Perc turned mean!!!

I have a pair of False Percs for over a year now and they have always been the most passive fish in the tank. They stayed in one corner of the tank and didn't bother a thing. Well I had gotten a RBTA about 7 months ago and for about 3 days now it has been hosting my Clowns. Now they bite my hand if i put it in the tank and they chase anything that gets close to the nem. Is this a normal change for clown fish when take to a nem?

Mine did the same thing except with a large toadstool. I just had to get rid of them after 6 years. I could not add any new fish to the tank with out the clownfish terrorizing them to death.

It's normal and to be expected as the clownfish mature. They defend their turf, and defend it from anything. I had a pair of clownfish that weren't even a year old, but the eventual male bit my hand when I was in the tank. He was barely an inch when he started biting, and the eventual female was about a quarter inch longer. Young clowns these days. :)

it may subside over time. mine did the same thing, once she started going in the nem i couldnt put my hand in without getting nipped, even if it was the other side of the tank. once she even got sucked into my tank cleaning siphon tube because she was so aggressive. now though, almost a year later, that behavior stopped, they still shoo other fish from coming too close, but they rarely go too far form the nem..
