My first anemones

I just got my first anemones and have a question.

Do they produce slime when they move around, kinda like a slug does? The reason I ask is that around 2 of them (the ones that are closed up), there is an abundance of 'slime'. I am going to the store to get some batteries for my camera right now so I can take a pic.

One of the ones in question is a colored condylactus, the other looks like a florida condi (I was suppose to get a green tipped
long tentacle, but it looks like they substituted).

It sure sounds like they scammed you instead of substituting.
Did you agree to that substitution because condys are a dime a dozen and LTA's are a bit more expensive.

No I did not agree to it, but on their site, it stated that if an animal was not available, an equal substitution would be made. I thought I was ripped off as well.

Originally, after I ordered, I was expecting an email or a call to confirm my order, but I got nothing. I called every phone number I found online and every single one of them were disconnected. So I thought I got scammed from the beginning. I don’t think I am ever going to do business with them again.

I am not sure if I am suppose to.

Also, I got a 'giant discosoma mushroom', that is suppose to open to 3"-5", and its maybe 1/2" accross right now. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

Maybe after I take my pics of everything and you all tell me that I got ripped, perhaps I will share, unless an admin on here tells me other wise.

would it not be okay for this person to tell us who they purchased these from so that we will know to not do business with them?

Maybe other people on here have had fine experiences with them, but I have not.

www.aquacon.com

2 big problems with them besides the ones stated. First, when I tallied up my total (their online system requires you to enter the description of an item and quantity, no calculations are preformed so you don’t know what your total is), I came up with $310 including shipping and packaging. But they charged me $360. I still cant figure it out. Second, I ordered live sand thinking that since they are from Florida, they were advertising Florida live sand, that I would get real live sand. They sent me that pre-packaged stuff. I was not happy. What really sucks is that I cannot contact them because I have no phone number or email address.

The last half of they're name says it all. aqua-CON. I won't say anymore but go take a look in the buyer feedback forum, your experience has been pretty typical.

Unfotunantly, the serch feature was not working when I was thinking about purchasing from them. I figured that they were a good business since they pay for google ad words. But as you put it, they put the CON in aquacon.

Well, they have all died. They didn’t look too well when I got them, so they were probably dead when I got them (they were delivered in 40 degree weather and the water temp was almost 90 (they had the heat packs right on the bags) All of my parameters are stable and no signs of anything in the tank (everything else I have in there is perfectly fine)

This whole experience has kind of discouraged me with this whole reef tank idea, so I think that I am just going to stick with a FOWLR tank untill I get my new tank and perhaps I will try again.

If you paid with a credit card you should call the 1-800 number and stop payment and open a claim with your credit card company.
That will get their attention.
