My first carpet

Hi, I just got my first blue carpet. Can you guys tell me if this is haddoni?
Is that mouth considered open? The LFS that I got from said that it's healthy. What do you think?

How long have you had it? It is a haddoni...hard to tell if it is healthy. Is the mouth still gaping like that?

i got it today. it attached it self on the rock within few minutes. I did 30 minutes drip acclimation on it.

Here is mine 30 minutes into dropping it in the tank.

Here it is a few days later

Since you just got it I wouldn't be overly concerned about the mouth. Was the mouth open at the LFS, and how long did they have it?

Re: My first carpet

The tank itself is new, but it's tied into another tank that's five months old.
Now the carpet's stalk elongated a lot. I wonder why.

Two mr16 LED rated 240 lumen, somewhere about 4" above it.

There's some sort of strings coming from it's foot, what is it?

Yeah it is... :S Did you acclimate it to your lights? It's stressing, hard..I suggest leaving it alone, disabling flow so that he can properly situate himself and above all things do not fudge with him, don't touch, move, feed..leave it. :(

yeah

yeah

watch it really carefully all the time from now on. It can start disintegrating quickly and you will need to remove it fast if that happens.

Hopefully it pulls through.

The fact that it hasnt attached or buried its foot yet (looks to be the case from the pictures) would concern me, as well as the condition of the petal disk, and mouth. All you can do is what slk55r said, and keep a close eye on it and be prepared to remove it if it goes down south. Most newly imported carpets have poor track records for survival, so finding a healthy one is key. It wouldnt hurt to remove the clowns.
