Yeah, I suppose your right. I'm new to this anyway but I have found it to be a very good product that actually works...your tank looks really nice btw

+1, super glue is used commonly, as well as lemon juice for aptasia cure.

So here's the new 'scape with the larger substrate. I hope this will still be OK for the goby / shrimp. Everything seems to be fine except the PH is a little low. The substrate is natures ocean aragonite. It's just crushed seashells and coral from the looks of it. I figure I'll give it a couple days to buffer the water and go from there.

How long should it take for the PH to stabilize? Between the reef salt mix, the LR and the crushed seashell substrate, shouldn't my PH be about 8.3 or so? I want to make sure I give it enough time. I'm trying not to have chemical soup adding a bunch of store bought "magic" to the tank, but my PH is measuring about 7.5 right now.

The one thing I've never liked about the Edge tanks is how closed up they are, and how small the opening is. Are you sure you're not experiencing a lack of gas exchange that's driving the pH down with CO2?

Ok so small update. Today Ammonia was 0, Nitrite was 0, and nitrates were between 10 and 15. I did a 25% WC. I'm a little upset because my best looking piece of live rock, which was covered with beautiful coralline in bright pinks and purples, seems to be getting over run with some greenish-brown type of algae.
Now, before you burn me at the stake, I do realize this is a new tank, I was just hoping to keep that stuff alive. Anyway, clean up crew soon I think.

Yeah, fairly sure. I can't imagine there's much in there putting out CO2 right now. I've got the surface breaking a little too. I think it's just a stabilization / buffering thing. Today it was in the 8.0 range.

Looks like your usual diatom bloom that you get with new tanks.

Yeah, I thought so too. Just looks a lot "greener" than the diatoms I've seen. And it's only on that piece of rock. Wanted to be sure.

Update.
So the diatoms are gone. Water is in great shape. I added a couple of frags, some hermits and a couple of nassarius. There's also an asternia starfish or two that have started cruising the tank from out of nowhere. The cleanup crew went to work immediately. I'll be adding a fish or two next weekend. Here's a few simple pics.

That's it for now. I'm really lovin' this little tank so far.

theres a pill that will wipe them out im just not sure what else it will take out in the process but they came in you tank on that frag. you have to watch where you get your corals from some stores are infested with pest and the owners dont even know it
