Well, I have finally decided to try this reef thing and so far I am liking it. I aquired about 100 lbs of live rock for $0 from my brother as well as a wet/dry filter, uv sterilizer and some various corals (bubble coral, red mushrooms and some brown zoos). Here are a few pics of the tank in its process. Let me know what you think. Thanks

My set up:
55 gallon all glass aquarium
75 gallon Aqua clear aquatics wet/dry
Cap 1800 pump
UV Sterilizer
100-120lbs fiji live rock
70lbs live sand
Coralife 260W pc w/4 lunar lights
2 power heads
many red mushrooms
small brown zoo colony
white bubble coral
various feather dusters
blue leg hermits
red scarlet hermits
bristle star and many babies
one large hermit, not sure what kind (see pic)
yellow tang
six line wrasse
sergeant major
blue damsel
percula clown

Your tank looks big for a 55! Nice job! Though I think you may have posted in the wrong forum. The "large reef tanks" forum is usually reserved for 180 gallons and up.

i just dont see why they can just make a nother sub froum for tanks in between 30-180g. but anyway dml32226 nice tank i really like the rock work you have.

thanks. I was actually going to get rid of some of the rock. I just have too much and I still have a few pieces in 5g buckets that have coraline, feather dusters, mushrooms and other small things growing on it. I just don't have anywhere to put it.

Sounds like a good enough reason to upgrade to me :spin1:

I have a 55G which was an upgrade from a 30G I had at my last residence. When I moved, my freshwater fish got upgraded to a 125G and so I decided the 55G couldnt stay bare so I put the marines into the 55G... wsh I would've taken more time to do thing like drill an overflow and maybe take more time with the rockscaping, but at the time, my motive was to get everything moved.... but now I've started plans to upgrade in the next year... either get rid of my freshies and use the 125 or get a seperate 90-100G tank for the marines and do it right....

sorry, didnt mean to try and hi-jack the post
