Very nice Sps and no that's not easy Sps to keep. What I mean by that is that's a Sps that anyone geared to keep Sps can. If your not set up to keep Sps then that piece is not for you. However that's a stunning piece and is usually kept by Sps nuts like myself lol. Good luck with it as it's amazing
By the way looks like a tenius.
May want to get another opinion, but a tank full of nems is not the best home for SPS. If they move they may decide to take a short cut through the sps. Stinging them as the pass through. Killing the sps. : O
I say give it a try and see what happens. I agree and disagree with a nem tank being a bad place. I wish you the best of luck with it as its a gorgeous piece!
Very nice looking piece u picked up! Best if luck!
Lots a flow and good lighting will help out. Since this is ur first SPS water is not extremely critical. Keep ur phosphate fairly low .02 or so. Critical factors are calcium, alkalinity, magnesium. Just want to make sure they are in check. Granted you won't need to do any dosing. Just good scheduled water changes will do good for you.
I'm not sure why no one's chiming in on your question. Typical first sps for people are things like birdsnest coral or maybe a purple stylophora. I've also had a fair amount of luck with several colors of digitata. Those all seem to grow fairly quickly and are a little harder to kill than the more full blow sps acro's and such. I have several anemone's in my tank and (knock on wood) haven't had a problem so far in 1 year. I have a HUGE LTA anemone and 4 rbta's. I did have to move a coral once as the LTA was getting huge and starting to sting the coral.
I finally know what the name of this coral . It is "Miami Orchid Staghorn" .
