My first sps

Kind of excited to see how my first SPS does. I bought a birdsnest cheap at a LFS. It does have some bleaching on it, which is why I got it so cheap. Hoping it snaps back to life or the other non bleached parts grow. Anyway I did dip the coral in treatment before putting in tank, also made a frag rack for him so I can adjust height and flow for it. Here's a quick pic.

I was thinking about doing that. In the picture you can't see it, but there is a healthy part I can cut off with bone cutters. However I need to get a frag plug.

Sps are hard enough starting with healthy coral makes it a lot easier. Good luck I'm rooting for u.

I hear ya man! I knew what I was getting myself into with an sps. But because the price was so cheap I figured why not. This isn't going to ruin me of sps if it does not workout. I will still buy a healthy small frag and try it out. My tank has been holding solid parameters for about a year now. With my water changes, and dosing. Also I have been keeping a log, which I must say Aquaticlog is very nice, but I like Aquarimate for the graphs. Makes it easy to keep track of parameters that's for sure.

Pink Birdsnest is going to be my first SPS as well in the coming weeks. Good luck, I'll be checking back to see how things are going.
