I live in Denmark.
I must say I am amazed about the slim selection of medicine over here. It is a joke shops here can sell fish and import Fish but not have any problem solvers. None of the shops I have been in contact with knows anything about diseases. I am really glad for RC and the help there is to find here.
My plan is to call all Vets Monday morning until I find somebody who can prescribe me something. I am not going to let me fish die. A strange thing is that if you are to keep Formalin 37% here in Denmark, you have to have a license from the Police.... What!!! it is no plutonium... I am defiantly going to find out how I can obtain a license so I can store and buy Formalin.
Reg. your friend in London, it would be very much appreciated any sort of tips or pointers at this moment. :thumbsup:

I caught some more fish today and gave them all fresh water dips. I find that giving smaller ones like Kaudanis and anthis squamipinnis dips of max 6 min is the best, they seam to be heavily effected of baths superseding that time spend.
Bigger fish like Pomacanthus navarchus and Naso elegans can go a bit longer. I gave them 15-20 min, they are stressed but eating 2 hrs after being put in the Hospital tank.
I lost 2 Kaudanis and a Vrasse
I give the fish a lot of different frozen food, I'm trying to start up a batch of brine ships which I hop will hatch soon.
Reg. the formalin. I called a pharmacy which mixes drugs to other pharmacies and they were super helpful investigating for me if they were allowed to give me formalin. I think it has something to do with, that formalin is on a sort of government watch list her in Denmark.
It is a bit like, we are okay to go buy a whole glass of headache pills 200 mg but if we want 600 mg we have to get a prescription from a doctor.

The EU has some very strict regulations regarding certain chemicals and whatnot. I think it's mainly environmental restrictions. My friend in London I had to mail him AlgaeFix because it's banned/not sold in the UK. If you ever look closely at the bottle there's some kind of warning message about AlgaeFix, cancer and the State of Florida (or something like that).

The problem is all meds have expiration dates, so odds are at least some of them will expire before you find you have need of them.

So got a hold on some 23,4 % formaldehyde today... Fantastic... I have been busy all night dipping the remaining fish, only one died, the last of the baby kaudanies :sad1:
All the other fish seam fine. My mix is 1,6 ML to 3,7 (1gallon saltwater)
I catch all the fish in the hospital tank with my hands to make sure I won't hurt them.
I have 1 bucket with the formalin mix in.
Then i transferee them to the first Saltwater holding bucket.
When the next batch is up the fish from holding B 1 gets moved to the 2 bucket with saltwater.
I cover the buckets so they do not stress.
I am still struggling to catch my veliferum, she is so clever, to much for her own good. She checks out the trap and then she swims to the end of the tank, where I stand when i have to release the trap. I hope I can outsmart here before it is to late.
Levels in my hospital tank is fine, I just did a 10% water change and poured boiling water over the filter sponge.

Update:
I have treatet now with Formalin now 4 times 2 ml pr 3,7L (1gallon). I have lost a lot of fish around 50% of my original stock. But the ones I have left looks to be doing fine. I have finally recieved some medicine FishVets Revive, I am going to dose it for the big 250 G and my hospital tank tonight. I hope it will worke, because there is still some fish I can't catch in the big tank... Fingers crossed

Wait a min, are you planning on using this in a FO or reef tank?
I know it says it doesn't harm inverts, but on the same page it also says:
"Revive's synergistic combination of acriflavine, aminoacridine and formalin are more effective than either individually"
I thought for sure formalin couldn't be used in a reef tank. What does everyone else think???

I poor the medicine in last night af the lights went out to avoid stressing the fish and this morning everybody looked just fine my Heliofungia and suncorals have all opened up and looks content so far ;=)

Formalin? Reef safe?!? I did a little Google search and came across this:
"Formalin has been demonstrated to be generally safe to use with various invertebrate species, primarily with crustaceans. It is commonly used to control epiphytic protozoa such as Zoothamnium and Epistylis. Aquaculture facilities use concentrations from 50 to 250 ppm. However, such concentrations are inappropriate for reef systems. Crustaceans will tolerate 15 to 25 ppm of formalin under most conditions. Keep in mind that some corals tend to be sensitive to even these concentrations."
So, perhaps the concentration of Formalin in Revive is low enough to be reef safe, while in others meds (such as Quick Cure) it is not? I'd really like to hear others chime in on this and 8220, I'm sure we'd all love to hear how your Brook (and corals/inverts) turns out after using Revive?

Here is a little update...
Everything is looking fine now 48 hrs + after I added Revive. The fish are not scratching against the sand or rocks anymore in the reef tank and they seam more relaxed. They have all started to come to the glass to beg for food again.
All shrimps + my crab are accounted for.
And the all the corals + feather dusters looks great .
The Fish in the Hospital tank also looks great, no sign of stress anymore, they also come to beg for food and all swim around peacefully.

Congratulations on hearing advice, acting on it, and taking ownership of your problem. Sounds like you are really on the right track. I use Revive on all corals, by the way.

When I purchased it, I got it from Dr. Foster and Smith. My other source for stuff is Marine Depot and Premium Aquatics. I have a lot and will not need to reorder any time soon. However, another dip that is recommended is CoralRx
