My Kodak Camera

I don't know if anyone here can answer this or not, but I won't know if I don't ask. I have (sorry, we have) a Kodak Z1012IS Easy share camera, when I bought it, it was a nice camera, I am sure there are better now. Anyway, it takes just ok pictures of my zoas and polys, I am wondering if there is another lens I can buy for this camera that would allow me to get much better pics of my corals.

We have the lens that came on the camera and we also have a telephoto lens. I emailed Kodak to see if there was another lens that I could get to help me out. They gave me the impression that there wasn't another lens I could get for this camera, and I wanted to find out for sure before I spent money on another camera. I will post two pics here, the first one will be about the best this camera will do and the second will be of my Purple Hornets, and that also.

As you can see in the second pic, the Purple Hornets are on the frag plug in the center of the photo and you can't really see any detail on them. The Bambams in the first pic show up good because they are so orange but you realy can't see any detail on them either. I have tried to use the telephoto lens one time and the pice looked like were taken in a tunnel. I just want alittle more detail in the pics.

Are you using a tripod? What you see as lack of detail could be slight blur from handholding at 1/30" which isn't sufficiently fast enough for handholding for many people. When mounted to a tripod, use a 2 second timer if you don't have a remote shutter release so the camera is completely still when the image is captured.

Also, make sure you are shooting absolutely straight through the glass, not at any angle and that you are not so close that the camera cannot focus on the subject from that distance.

We will give the tripod a 2 second timer and see if that make a differance. Thanks for the help. My wife does all the pic taking and I read this to her and we will try your advice.
