My lion ate the Helfrichi
I just opened the bag & pored it in
I saw a yellow tang in a 34 cube on the interweb
The guys on TANKED do it
Hydrometer & recracteters are just too expensive
Well my other fish get ich & don't die but this one did

Having been an LFS employee myself, I can't tell you how accurate that is.

There's a real problem in our hobby when it comes to general ignorance and indifference. Most people with an aquarium know exceedingly little about aquarium keeping.

Not only do they not know anything about the animal they are buying, but they keep buying and killing the same fish. Then show back up and blame the store for it. All the copper banded in the store are doing fine but when you get them home they die in a week. Yet you keep buying them and saying the store is to blame.

Really? Even if you are kidding this is a completely inappropriate thing to post. Says a lot about character, or lack thereof.

One time I bought a power head at LFS for $60, online the same item is $23. I don't mind paying $40 but $60+tax, felt like someone just kicked me in the stomach!

There are times when I'll buy from my LFS, but I'm aware most of the time that I'm not getting anywhere near the lowest price.
Sometimes its because I need it quickly, sometimes because I just feel like keeping a relationship with the local store in case of emergencies. Other times it can be a good deal (seeing stock in person, not paying shipping on a single oddball item).

The end result is that as much as my LFS owner hates it, I don't tend to buy big ticket items from him, especially as he won't budge at all on pricing.

I have worked in a LFS and yes you can always get lower prices from on line sources but we need to support the LFS as long as they support us when we have questions. RC is a wealth of info. but so are the people working in the business keeping thousands of gallons of tanks looking perfect every day.
one of the LFS i deal with quarantines there fish for 14 days before they come out for sale. thats worth a lot. another is allot cheaper on fish but your taking a gamble on health. the internet is a huge gamble. you dont see your fish till it gets to your house and you have no idea the stress it has been put through.

Our LFS store sells them for $30ish. And he's usually a little high on fish prices. I think you paid too much... Sorry, bud!
