My New 1,000L "almost" Cube

I think in all my years of reef keeping, this is my favorite aquarium. The only thing missing is a nice magnifica anemone for your 3 clowns. I think that'd fit in well with your setup. Beautiful creation, Michael.

Yea, awesome scape. Did you start with dry rock? I restarted my tank in November with nothing but dry rock and they are no where NEAR how purple your rocks are. Any secrets?

Another fine example of a incredible South African build !! well done Michael!!

Thanks for that kinlayan

love the openness of this tank!

Thanks and that is excatly the look I'm going for, with space for the corals to grow

I'm humbled by your very kind words - thank you - and oh how I would love an anemone (just too nervous with my powerheads & Vortech pumps)

Thank you and started with 90% dry rock & the rest came from my old 5 foot - no secret really LOL, think it just seeded well from what Live Rock I did have & also doing the tank with a dsoing pump helped?

Amazing tank and build. I love the yellow tangs too!

Thanks a million

And just few coral shots for fun ...

Awesome tank. I was wondering what the height of your stand and canopy are. It's very well proportioned with the tank and looks great. How do you access the inside of the tank. Looks like the top of the canopy is open? Do you just reach over or remove the canopy? Thanks.

Thanks, my stand height is 800mm and the tank 600mm and the canopy strip is 200mm. Open top, use a step and just reach over.

Wow!!!
It's wonderful!!!
I'd like this layout!!!

Thank You :)

This tank is very impressive. I actually quiy my ghosting the forums and just had to type in here how I LOVE the tank and how neat everything is. Great job, man.

Love the aquascaping. This is the motivation for me to build my new tank. Wont be this big, but thinking 36x36x24 and with a very open rock work like your. NICE JOB

Thanks a million and all the best with that build - GO FOR IT

That female is beautiful for a designer clown!

Do you guys have many clown breeders over there or were those hard to get?

Great pictures, man.

Its nice to see one of your builds from the start. I've followed a couple on UR and must admit i've loved them all. For me one of the most impressive features is the amount of space you have left for the fish to swim about. Its really nice to see such an open layout.
What swings it though is the little barnacle clusters with the two little faces poking out. The tailspot has been my favourite fish for a while and i'd love to sneak a barnacle blenny in my tank somewhere. You don't see many of the guys with bigger setups thinking about the little species.

Thanks so much for the very kind words

What sand are u using

The LFS sells it as crushed coral -very small circular particles (in one area where the flow is very strong I added some much larger substrate to stop it from blowing around)
